TCM tune from Henessey

Has anyone tried the TCM upgrade available from Henessey Performance? I saw it on their web site and have a call in to find out more info on it. It retails for $795 and is supposed to provide faster/firmer shifts.

Whos gonna be our guinea pig?

I would also like solid evidence backing up the claims not "mang, i felt the shift so violent it rattled my *********" sort of claims.

I demand shift speed in miliseconds measured with accelerometers within a controlled enviroment.

I know they have a sweet shop and drag strip on the property just west of Houston. I'd like to here what they have to say as well. Keep us posted. I only know of one person that had some work done on his corvette at this site. He is very happy to say the least.

They are really good with US cars but I haven't seen any C63s made by them. However, it would be nice to see one.

I talked to one of the guys at Hennessey today who does the work on the AMGs. This is a newer car for them and they have only done a few of the cars where they did both ECU & TCM reprogramming. I'm seeing if I can get in contact with one of the existing customers to get some feedback. They don't have measured differecnes in shift times in milleseconds. I'm considering this and want to talk to them some more before I decide. I have heard good things about their work, but the AMG motor is relatively new for them. The person I spoke to (Tyler) seemed knowledgeable and was able to answer all my inital questions.

I'll keep everyone posted as I find out more.

I would think the turbo system for our cars is just vaporware at this point

Sounds like a steal......those will be flying off the shelves at that cut-rate price...i think you get a Z06 at that price as a chase car to pick up your parts as they blow-up down the road

Just stay away from Hennessey.

I asked them about my Firebird and CL600 a while back...and couldn't get many straight answers on the CL. Anyway, I sent them my computer for my Firebird, mostly because it was a new build and I needed a mail order tune to get the car running to make sure everything was ok before I went for the dyno tune. ANYWAY, they didn't listen and put nearly 3 weeks of delay into completing my car and on top of that I had to replace 8 brand new spark plugs after I watched fuel drip out of the tail pipes; they also bumped the tranny line pressures out of sight and wound up blowing a couple of internal seals so I also had to go through the transmission.....my opinion - if you can't tune an injected Chevy engine, then you can't tune anything.

+1 I would stay away fron Hennessey. If the experience above was recent, sounds like things haven't changed in several years. I didn't realize they were still in business. Ask the Viper community what they think of their work. Products not delivered, money gone, cars shipped to them for work and never finished, phone calls never returned. Hennessey likes being featured in magazines. They can't run a business very well though. I certainly would not use their product or even worse, be their "first." There were more unsatisfied Viper customers than satisfied ones.... just beware.... you should be able to find some background on http://www.viperalley.com/forum/

I have a friend with a Viper who had dealings with him...suffice it to say everything in Hans' post apparently happened to my friend so buyer beware.

8 months ago...pretty recent.

I can also tell you this, they tuned one of the new 2010 SS Camaro's when it came out...another tuner had to go fix that tune b/c it was crap. Like I said before, if you're too incompetent tune an LSx then you damn sure can't tune M-B.
