ECU Upgrades

I was wondering if there's anyone out there (including vendor reps) that has experienced multiple ECU upgrades from different vendors and can compare them. Every comment I've seen seems to swear by its own respective upgrade; however, I haven't found any thoughtful comparison on the non-power (shifting (C & S), efficiency, etc.) metrics that would play a significant role in which upgrade I choose. Stage 1 upgrade reviews would be the most helpful to me, but I'd be happy if this were an informed thread regarding dyno-tuned upgrades from competing companies as well.

I was not aiming my comment at you, I was just getting ready for all the discussion, debates and argueing that would follow. There is a long history of ECU debates all over MB World in the past.

jrcart is right . no need for appologies . we weren't trying to make a joke out of you or anything like that . we have seen all the discussions about this topic and it creates a giant soap opera . hope you get all the correct info that you want . i suggest you do what i did and actually call the tuners directly and ask questions . i would never go with a tuner that talks down about the other tuners to make theirs look better . thats a sure sign of uncertainty . depending what you are looking to do , there is a tuner out there for you . by asking the opinions of the people in here , it is going to confuse you to death because you never know why that person has actually chosen their tuner ( price , power , friend , location ) . all the tuners basically put down the same #'s , give or take a few . you want to look for the most power you can get without giving up reliability . the highest hp is not always the best .
