30K+ miles and need new brake pads and sensors

just got my car back from the dealer after completing service A... wonder why it's not C... anyway

my car now tells me i have 10000 miles until my next service which is B2... does this mean that they recommend me not needing an oil change until then? thought the first 2 services were at 5000 mile intervals.

and the other thing they told me was that my rotors look good but my front pads will need replacing along with sensors. so the c63 has 2 pads for each rotor on the front? so i need 4? i've read some threads but there were very little on aftermarket options. got some information about the EBC red/yellow but don't know if this will be any better or cost effective compared to the stocks. anyone have any opinions of which route to take?

1. get it all done at the dealer and save time. cost about $380
2. buy aftermarket parts (can the sensors be bought as well?) and have a reputable shop install it
3. buy the stocks with sensors somewhere if possible and have a shop install it.

I don't really get it. Aftermarket brake pads have always proven to be better for performance vs stock pads that last long rather than provide performance. Depends if you want performance or not...

One main reason why I would not install the stock pads is for the brake dust they produce. I replaced the pads of my X5 with after market brembo pads and no more dust .

Do not feel bad about 30K. I had to put on new pads at 9k! I bought the pads and sensors from the dealer and put them on myself.

Why do you want to change to aftermarket? We already have brembo brakes.

well, sometimes there are better options out there that i may not know of... or maybe i can find the same pads somewhere else than buying it from the dealer... but i think i'm leaning towards just having the dealer do everything... i haven't heard much to sway me...

I think that 380$ for the front pads, sensors and labor is actually quite reasonable given it's a MB, it's an AMG, and come on, just look at those brakes...

IMO don't waste time go to the dealer.

use the time you same to drive around with your car.

try primepartssuperstore.com for OEM parts. if you are not intending on tracking your car, i would just stick with the factory stuff.its good enough for the street. i usually get about 35k-40k miles out of the front pads on my clk.so 30k on the c63 is great.do you do alot of highway?
