Dyno Results :: Before and After :: Stock to Kleemann K1 Tune :: Two 2010 C63s
We just finished up a fantastic dyno day up here in the Pacfiic Northwest. I'd like to thank to the folks at Carb Connection in Kirkland, Washington for hosting and I'd like to thank James@ACGSD for providing same-day Kleemann tuning.
OK, on the the results!
My Car:
2010 C63 AMG
1,012 Miles
92 Octane (Shell)
Conditions:
64 Degrees F
30.09 in-Hg
43-50% Humidity
Dyno:
Dynojet Model 424xLC2
Important Notes:
- Before and after pulls done in 4th gear, on the same dyno, on the same day (20-mins apart).
- SAE Correction Factor (0.96) and Smoothing 5 was used.
Stock* Dyno Pulls (Before):
377.16 RWHP / 370.54 RWTQ
376.60 RWHP / 376.68 RWTQ
Kleemann K1 ECU Tune** Dyno Pulls (After):
422.53 RWHP / 382.50 RWTQ
426.19 RWHP / 385.00 RWTQ
423.01 RWHP / 384.06 RWTQ
Best Stock run was 377.16 RWHP, best Kleemann K1 run was 426.19 RWHP for a 49.03 RWHP gain!
*BMC Replacement Drop-in Filters and Charcoal Filters removed.
**91 Octane Tune
When we finished with the comparison runs, I did one 5th gear pull to establish a new baseline now that the speed limiter is gone. The result was 432.48 RWHP. No torque was recorded in this run.
------------------------------------------------------------
Member avengerboater saw very, very similar results.
His Car:
2010 C63 AMG
940 Miles
92 Octane (Shell)
All above conditions apply however the tachometer sensor was not operating properly during some of these pulls. Consequently, torque values are not very accurate and will not be reported to keep consistency.
Stock* Dyno Pulls (Before):
371.10 RWHP
372.46 RWHP
Kleemann K1 ECU Tune** Dyno Pulls (After):
420.37 RWHP
422.16 RWHP
A 49.70 RWHP gain!
*K&N Replacement Drop-in Filters and Charcoal Filters removed.
**91 Octane Tune
5th gear pull generated 429.14 RWHP.
------------------------------------------------------------
We also had two AMG 55's in attendance.
Member BeltFedBob with his 2005 SL55 (Kleemann 168mm Pulley, Tune, Headers, Hi-flow Cats and 80mm Throttle Body) was having some cooling issues early on, but after clearing a few codes put down 459.00 RWHP / 476.64 RWTQ. A big thanks to James for bringing his diagnostic tool!
Member DucatiNut with his 2006 CLS55 (Bone Stock) put down 431.39 RWHP / 471.53 RWTQ.
------------------------------------------------------------
Graphs:
My hard copy of the three 4th gear Kleemann pulls.
The two C63's 5th gear pulls. Talk about a dead even race from 60-170mph.
avengerboater's best pulls.
DucatiNut's best pull. A stock monster rollin' on 20's.
BeltFedBob's best pull. IC pump problems holding his car back.
My C63 vs. my old M5.

C63 AMG
Thanks, Wayne! It's a shame that I couldn't get accurate torque numbers. I'm pretty bummed about that.
But the hp gains were as advertised.
We've gotta do this again after some more mods!!

Thanks for sharing! I too also came from E60 M5..hated the SMG.
Your car should Dyno a bit higher once you put some HARD miles on it.
Your C63 K1 will take the M5 easily! Enjoy your new ride.
PS. What kind of CF lip is on the red C63? TIA

great pics.
great numbers in detail with all variables accounted for.
Wow 50 hp at the wheel is equal to about 60 hp at the crank I guess.
So hp figures for a K1 C63 would be around 505 hp. wow.

now im not sure if u added the AMG performance pkg to ur car. If u did, then ur stock hp should be 481hp, thats only for 2010 model +
Assume u didnt and remain 451hp, then according to ur info.
Here are the engine hp:
stock: 377.16rwhp = 451hp
so, 426.19rwhp = 509.6hp or 510hp
IF 481hp stock then
stock: 377.16rwhp = 481hp
so 426.19rwhp = 543.5hp
Assume u didnt and remain 451hp, then according to ur info.

CLS55 plus a few Ducati's
I guess so.... I am the second owner. Bought it a year ago with 14,000 miles. Properly serviced etc.. Guess it is a good motor that hasn't been abused.
Thanks to all and especially to Wayne for posting all the results. I just need some headers, a pulley and a tune and she should be good for close to 500 RWHP.

WOW, maybe it has a tune?
That is amazing, for stock. Did you dyno with the rims in the picture?

I'm gonna break in my K1 first and see how I like the resulting power. Eventually, I'll probably go x-pipe w/ secondary cat delete or high flow cats...and finally LT headers and K2 tune. But all of this is dependent upon how much louder my car progressively gets with each addition. For now, I'll just enjoy the K1 and wait for my wheels and tires.

I agree with Juicee, the CLS55 can't be stock, using the ratio of 83.5% (377/451), this would mean Ducatinut's CLS has 516hp whereas it is advertised at 469hp.
That would an increase of 47hp which sounds like a tune.
Bottom line: that CLS rocks

K1 warranty ok?
Once again great numbers.
The proof is in the pudding.
BTW the red car looks awsome. My wife wanted one. I only saw one red c class so far on the streets.
I never considered red but now...I goota say, i'm impressed.
But does the K1 tune invalidate your waranty? if so, is it tracable by MB tech or can you revert to the basic ecu for maintenance and put it back to K1 after
