I certainly don't need to know about your specific warranty issues (and in fact I don't think you need to let us know). I only want to know mechanically what failed. If it's just a seal that definitely gives me more warm fuzzies about our transmissions. :-)

Yeah, it went there...

But I can say there was no hardware failure that they're aware of. Yet. Like I said, just a seal.

MB and some dealerships also have, on occasion, flagged heavily modded vehicles "Status 8" which allegedly requires a regional rep of MBUSA to personally review and approve any subsequent warranty repairs on said vehicle... basically the "kiss of death" when it comes to further warranty work by MB, unless it's completely and irrefutably unrelated to the mods. Hopefully that doesn't happen in this case.
Josh's Silver Dragon is a high-profile, heavily modded car... it's been on the cover of major car mags as well as shows like SEMA, etc. Not to mention all the posts and descriptions on MBWorld. I'm not the least bit surprised that MBUSA isn't going to just "rubber-stamp" warranty work and instead wants to further review the issue at hand; that said, I hope it's all fixed satisfactorily for him.
Serious question - any chance that heavily modded M156 vehicles in warmer climates are generating transmission temperatures in excess of the proper operating range? Increased trans heat would be a byproduct of an increase in engine TQ, wouldn't it?

Some nissan gt-r were denied warranty because of the info that nissan got off forums like this one where they could establish that car had been modified by an individual seeking warranty work...![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

But if we don't call people by first name and only by their username I don't think that MBUSA or any car manufacturer for that matter can trace it to the actual owner. You could always say that wasn't me...must be someone else with the same color. (Granted you take the mods out and put it back to stock before you go to the dealer)

I guess if I ever do anything besides exterior work no one on this forum will be finding out ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Well I was just saying for the general public. I think it's kind of hard for you because I remember you saying that you told your SA everything you had done on it. But if you went to another dealer would they really know?
