Don't know how insurance works up north, but doubt he will get it totaled. I got rear ended two months ago, with much worse looking damage(2 months to fix at over 15K $$) and was nowhere near to getting it totaled, frame damage or not. Most insurance companies today will do everything they can to not total, especially high $$$ cars. My company would not total unless the repair costs exceeded 75% of the car's value.
I am getting a diminished value claim, but that's made easier 'cause it was 100% the other guy's fault. If you cause your own wreck, you're probably out of luck..

Lucky you didn't kill some one. Driving like that with ESP off in Toronto considering the amount of salt dust on the roads these days is nothing short of irresponsible. Summer or winter tires....

So to summarize:
1) ESP turned off on a 450hp RWD car
2) Obviosuly you are very young (based on your terrible grammar) = zero driving skills \ experience
3) Cold roads and cold tires
4) Possible salt and debris on road from Ontario winter roads
5) No doubt showing off
6) Probably seen too many Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson \ YouTube videos
7) Quick to post on the internet and share with the world wide web...
Not impressed kid.
Just be lucky you are alive and keep that behavior off public roads where you do not endanger other innocent people

I do 1st gear pulls at WOT all the time with ESP off, just not at wet cold road. If the roads are wet and cold, 1st gear pull to WOT with ESP on sport at least and be prepared to counter-steer/adjust throttle.
Learn from your mistakes, good luck.

At least no one got hurt and he walked away... Cars can be replaced and egos mended. Lighten up fellas.

I agree with LZH. The post was just sharing a bad experience. The driver and passengers are OK, no one got hurt other than his feelings.
We really have a bunch of know it all in this forum.
Life throws you curve *****, he just missed that one.
Drive safe and enjoy your car when it is fixed.
