Now you just have to dig up 180K so you can get one in your S63.
I wonder how long it will take to get it into a C or E class. Also, im sure it will be detuned down from those numbers in the S63.
I still don't see an official release from MB however.

I hate to say it, but when will this horsepower war end? I mean honestly, I love driving a high powered car, everyone does, but after 400 or 500 hp, how much more do you really want or need?
Regardless, that engine look freakin awesome

That's what I thought when I got my car, only to realize that somehow, inexplicably, I ended up wanting MORE!!

Awww, man. That's an incredible looking and performing engine. Makes me a bit sad thinking about the tuning/modding capabilities of that engine and the potential hp it can reach.

i'm sure the tuners are going to enjoy playing with that motor and upgrading the turbos. i would if anyone would convert it to a single turbo system sorta like what people with the twin turbo supras.

I don't think a single turbo setup is possible on a V engine, the only reason the twin turbo supras worked was it was an inline 6 with all the exhaust on one side of the block.

If you really want to save the environment, first don't buy a V8 and take public transportation instead... or do a little bit of both like me =)

2013 Chevy 427 Torch Red
Article claims that it will produce up to 664lbs of torque yet still be mated to the 7 speed. This is very strange considering the E55 was never given that tranny due to concerns with the torque being just over 500 lbs. I guess the wet clutch setup of the MCT solves the weak link (torque converter). This new motor and MCT tranny will not ever be found in a $60,000 car.

2009 C63 with Eurocharged tune and charcoal delete
Check out the article on Edmunds Inside Line. They don't mention two different engine sizes, and they say MB will still call it the "63". I doubt the version of either engine they use in the C-Class will be significantly more powerful than the current generation. If they were gonna do that they would have given it more horsepower the first time around. Their marketing guys are just never gonna let the C-Class buyers have the same power as the $100K+ cars, at least not from the factory. For sure you will be able to get big hp numbers aftermarket with the new engine. I'm quite happy to have gotten their last normally aspirated engine, and the same basic engine architecture that is in their flagship SLS.

A bigger single turbo is no problem on a V8. I have a single rear mount on my truck putting out ~ 550fwhp @ 12 psi and lots of people have single front mounts as well. The complexity and packaging of duals makes them harder and a lot more expensive to do.
