Sounds fishy. Stealer should have copies of all the documents they need.

What's the recall about? I'm picking up my 2010 C63 in 2 weeks so it would be good to know!

Do you know if this is just the 2010? Is the 2009 impacted?

I just checked the VMI on the two 2010's we have in stock and there is no mention of a recall.

I am with amdeutsch. Sounds suspicious. Might want to find out more details before you take your car in.

To the OP: who is your dealer in SoCal?

btw, a lot of dealers send out very official looking recall/update documents that are really just a disguise to get you in so they can do "inspections." Then they tell you things like your Nav needs updating or whatever else they can find to fix. MB of Beverly Hills does this (although they do have a decent service department and are a MBUSA designated AMG Performance Center.)

HaHa.....good to know it was nothing sinister.

Are you sure?

Maybe they put in a Flux Capacitor and when you hit 88 mph within 4.5 seconds it will send you to the future...LOL

fwiw, Teleaid didn't "change carriers." Teleaid is a marketing name from MB. Teleaid comes from a telematics company called ATX. ATX also markets "BMW Assist" for BMW. Both MB and BMW contract out with ATX.

However, MB has broken their contract with ATX and went instead with Hughes Telematics. The new marketing name for the Hughes service is called MBrace.

MB and ATX ended up in a lawsuit. If you had bought your car recently you could have had a lifetime deal (way better price) with Hughes (MBrace) as a promo to stop using Teleaid. The promo ended a month ago.

Before you switch over from Teleaid to Mbrace, call Hughes and see if they will still give you the promo deal. Otherwise you can still stay with Teleaid. Check with Teleaid and see what they can do for you. Plus you might prefer the Teleaid service over MBrace.

Your dealer should have told you all this, but MBUSA is playing dumb and quiet because they'd prefer you go with MBrace since Hughes is giving them a better deal.

I realize you have a free year, but after that you have to pay. So pick the service you want and not what the dealer assumes you want.
