C63 Owners with H&R springs
So i fitted H&R springs approx 2000kms ago. And my drivers side sway bar ball joint broke/ busted. Merc claim the stress from lowering the vehicle .75in has caused this. Who else has fitted these springs? have you had any problems? were do i stand?
thanks

I think the part was faulty and it probably gave when you hit a speed bump or if the car bounced due to heavy road iregularities. Replacing that part is not expensive.

Hi, I have H&R springs on my performance pack c 63 (stiff as all hell before and after), and havent had any problems....yet....knock on wood. I installed them at about 12,000 at 23999 now.

Screw the dealer...go to corporate...corporate has to PROVE that the springs did the damage or replace it under warranty. Your choice of how much trouble you want to go through versus just pay. But letting the dealer manhandle you like that is going to set a precedent I would think for denying future warranty repairs.

If it's a cheap fix then just pay a bit and keep them happy. It's not worth pissing off your dealer over a few bucks, IMO. You want to keep a happy relationship with them. Perhaps have a *nice* conversation with the service advisor or manager first.
If you don't want to pay for it, call the dealer first and corporate second and start yamering on about the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act ( do a bit of research first ) that protects owners from situations like this. As another poster mentioned they are required to show that the aftermarket part was the cause of the damage.
Good Luck!
