Holy Smoking Tesla, Batman!

Holy Smoking Tesla, Batman!
So, I'm waiting to get on the 405N at Santa Monica, and this Tesla pulls up alongside me (the dealership is on that block). I look over at him and smile and nod and he looks back with the evil grin and I know it's on. I've always wanted to see just how fast a golf cart can really be, and I was about to find out, LOL...
We both make the right onto the onramp and floor it. I couldn't believe it, but he almost instantly put a car length on me and kept pulling until about 70 or 80, when I started to pick up ground as we merged onto the highway. By 90 I was pulling on him as hard as he pulled on me from a dig. There was a little traffic, but we kept dicing it up until he got off at Mulholland. So much fun, but it was really weird not hearing anything coming from his car.
Anyway, I was stoked to see someone drive this thing like that, and I'm amazed at just how fast they are off the line. Full torque at zero RPM does have it's advantages. Too bad they're sooo frickin' ugly.

Ya the thing with the electric car is, it is so fast of the line. Top end will suffer a bit, but for the city who cares. I just drove a fuel cell car and its fast, quiet and fun to drive. I like the way these cars drive, it is so different. The funny thing is after a drive in a eco clean car, you feel so guilty driving a gas car..lol.

Tesla Roadster Electric Car Virtual Engine Noise - Lots of Fun!
Now this one was good for a few chuckles. The National Federation of the Blind, among other groups, has lobbied hard for all electric cars and dual-mode hybrids to be equipped with noisemakers while in motion to aid the blind in traveling safely as pedestrians.
BRABUS's solution for the Tesla's silent electric motor is to fit the car with what they are calling the space sound generator. The idea of driver-selectable engine noise programs, which are relative to throttle load, is just too fun. Want a big displacement V8 in your Tesla? How about the whine of a turbo rotary? BRABUS even offers otherworldly sounds called 'space' and 'warp' unlike anything coming from a fossil burner.
The Tesla tuning package is available now, that is if you can get your hands on one of the rare $100,000 Tesla Roadster electric sports cars. If you don't make 8 figures, better get in line.

Tesla's are nice, but I do wonder how it compares to the Fisker Karma.

The Tesla is so unreliable. Its braking, acceleration reduce the mileage to like 50 miles for the next charge... then it takes 5-6 hours to fully charge it again. Sorry, but I'd rather be filling up every week with a 63 engine than running up my electrical bill to $1000 a month for 50-100 miles of driving a day.
