C63 finally arrived after Euro Delivery - pics
Well, it took just under 6 weeks (just like MB said it would) but my car is finally here after I got to drive it in Europe. I picked it up in Sindelfingen, drove it around for a week and dropped it off on February 8. It arrived March 18 in West Chester Pa.
it's loaded with every option possible. I bought the AMG 19s w (265/30 and 245/35 PS2s) and had them installed. I also bought the AMG door pins and dealer installed them for 30 bucks. I also had the body color side markers put on (what a difference).
And yes, when you see the pictures that's the new Star Trek movie playing. I had the video in motion installed yesterday- I promised myself i'll only play movies I'VE ALREADY seen while driving. The VIM is awesome, except you scrambles the nav because the car thinks it's in park.
The car looks so nice with the 19s and the red brakes look amazing. I will say, i'm getting ceramic pads AS SOON AS THEY COME OUT. it took me 40 minutes to get the wheels/brakes clean last night. The red calipers show every spec of dust/dirt that hits them.
The first pictures are at the dealer sitting next to my C32 that i'm keeping.
Spent 3 hours washing and cleaning last night.....i only stopped because my girlfriend came home. I think i may have slept in it if she didn't.

Yeah, the C32 has coilovers which lowered it a ton. I did a lot of cosmetic stuff to it- pedals, front fogs, door locks, shifter, C55 wheels, C55 lip, clear side markers, k and n filters, CLK grill. It's still fast as hell. Here she is.
I'll drive the C32 in bad weather, including snow (with the 17" original wheels with snows).
besides Europe, the 63 will probably never see rain again.

You will be spending many hours keeping the brake dust off the wheels and calipers...Believe me, I know...In fact, you may find yourself deciding to sometimes only wash the wheels/brakes and leave the rest of the car for another day...This happens to me quite often because I spend half a day to do the whole thing spotless...
Just an FYI...I have a dedicated and completely separate bucket of hot soapy water, electric toothbrush, and thin sponges that squeeze between the caliper and rim...I use car wash soap such as "Blue Coral Wash and Wax" so that the next time I clean the wheels, the fine clearcoat (on the wheels and brakes) has a slight wax finish which makes the dust wash off easier...Finally, the front wheel/brake is more challenging to get a sponge in between the caliper and rim so I sometimes wear latex gloves to keep from scraping up my knuckles on the sharp edges of the wheel spokes...
Just some tips from a clean Black C63 fanatic...Squirrel

bobora, the leather dash isn't offered in the US, at least that is what the 3 dealers in my area told me. otherwise, i would have gotten it. they said it is part of the designo program and they only offer that on the S, SL and CL and other high end classes in the US. apparently, it's much more readily available in Europe.
C63squrirrel (what, exactly, does your name mean?) thanks for the tips on cleaning the wheels. i''m hoping that akebone comes out with some ceramic brake pads for my car. they solved all of the problems with dust on my C32. i could not believe how long it took me to clean these puppies to my satisfaction. until i get those pads, i'll take your advice...dedicated wheel cleaning tools. i'll be shopping this weekend.

sincity, by the way, i didn't WANT to buy both the 18s and 19s, but MB wouldnt sell me the 19s because i'm in the US. i had to buy the 18s and then buy the 19s, even though i picked the car up in europe. they even made me buy an additional ipod adapter when i picked the car up in sindelfigen because they said my dealer was supposed to supply it.
87k on a C class and i can't get an ipod adapter? damn mb is cheap! hiyoooooo!

No problem, glad to share the cleaning tips...As for the name, whenever I get into my C63, I get squirrely behind the wheel and drive around like a maniac...I also have 2 pet squirrels that like to hang around when I wash the car in my driveway...

Glad to here the baby is back in your own hands, the wheels look amazing as always, good to see you decided on a tire and size that looks good on the car, you must be out driving after missing her no doubt!! Have fun, I see you have the VIM, is it difficult to install? What sort of issues with it do you have if any? I am thinking of getting it for my wifes 09ML350 for her and the kids, not planning on doing it on my car as I barely even listen to music, I am to infatuated with this powerplant.
