Time to Represent? - SPEED Channel The Forum Wars
Apparently Speed Channel has put together some new series pitting fanboys against each other -- strip, track, whatever. I'd love to see some modified C63's represent!

No idea how to sign up though. Thoughts?

Is that real? If so I'm in, where do I sign up? I honestly don't think there is another MB/AMG road legal car on this forum that could beat mine in those types of all around events...maybe a heavily modded SLR or modded DTM CLK and since I am not aware of either of those being owned by anyone here I'm ready to represent for MB World.

jrcart, I would love to see your CLK Black on that show. There is some website for the event but it's not an active site yet.
What's this Evosport beast got done?

Oh btw I think the show is meant to pit fanboys against one another - BMW vs MB, etc. How would your Evosport CLK do against a HorsepowerFreak e46? BMW vs MB is what I'd like to see most.

Just a few bolt-on just ask around. I built it pretty much specifically for road courses but being on this forum caused me to get the drag racing itch since so many guys are into 1/4 mile stuff. So in a nutshell it's the ultimate road course car that can also run high 10 second quarter miles at the drag strip in 100% road course trim (with the exception of a set of drag slicks).

What do those thing make HP wise? 700-750 at the crank? I make over 650 at the crank N/A and over 750 crank on the bottle...Bring em on...It's probably not going to beat me in an all around challenge as decribed in that promo video. I'm not saying I can't loose, but I can represent and will not disapoint and probably have an honest shoot at winning. A heavily modded GT-R will get me, as will a heavily modded ZR1, and a VERY heavily modded GT3, but besides that I don't see anything else getting me in an all around challenge.

These events are being able to put down the power. Look at the GT-R which dominates the event. The most Hp doesn't win this event it's who can drive and hook up. I'd stick with rear wheel drive opponents like Vett's, BMW's and GT3's.

He told me it dyno'd 800 hp and that's about what you need to run in 180's from a standing start.
I say lets line em up.

In all honestly there are a whole lot of 11 sec M-3 and Cadillacs out there to be messing around. There are only a few C63 in the 11's so I wouldn't suggest participating unless is like a bone stock vs bone stock similar sedans.

It does not take 800rwhp to run 180 in the standing mile. In fact, with 800rwhp he should have run well over 200mph in the standing mile and thats why I'm sure there was something wrong with his car that weekend. I only have 480rwhp and ran 181 in the standing mile.

The only car than ran 200 was Big Red a 1100 hp tube frame Camero which has the all time open road record. Different days different conditions. You weren't there.

Not to strat a war, but at 2500ft elevation it's a different ball game than sea level. The forced induction cars have an advantage as the loss of power is minimal. The NA cars loose about 6-8%. All the Ford GT in the 180'smph were 750-800+ hp. GT-R ran 162, stock, ZR1's 170, zO6's 159 as a comparison.

In fact, I also have taken the same car from SIR(Tucson) to San Antonio raceway(Sann Antonio, TX) and I dropped a full .5 sec as well.
Altitude kills the performance on N/A and also on foced induction. The advantage with the forced induction off course is being able to raise the boost.
