You can run 275s on Forgestar F14s

As the title states, you can successfully run 275/30/19 rears on the Forgestar F14s if you are willing to do a few things to make it work. I have the 19" x 10" F14s in the rear and when first installed with 275/30/19 Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas I had significant rubbing issues. My car is lowered on KW V3s so I'm sure that exacberated the situation. Here's how I fixed the issue.

First, I raised the suspension about 3/8" front and rear as it had settled since installation.

Next, I had the rear fenders rolled. (After this I was still getting some rubbing.)

Next up was to have 3mm machined off the back pad, thereby increasing the offset to a +53

At the same time I had the rear fenders rolled a little more aggressively and the corner of the fender where it meets the bumper cover trimmed slightly. (This area was sticking out into the wheel well a little after the rolling so my shop trimmed it back and rounded the edge to make it smooth.)

After all of this, my C63 looks bad a** and doesn't rub, while still allowing me to run the wider 275s in the rear.

(As a side note to anyone else getting F14s for a lowered car, I had to add 3mm spacers up front to prevent rubbing against the coilover adjustment collar.) For some reason, it only rubbed on the right side, but I obviously installed spacers on both sides.

So to all you C63 owners that want to run the F14s I can tell you that it is possible to do so with 245/35/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears if you are willing to take some extra steps to make it work.

I must also give a huge kudo to Peter at Wheel Experts as he worked with me through this entire process and made the whole thing as painless as possible. Wheel Experts FTW!

That is a lot of work for an extra 10mm front and back.

So will this size wheel/tire etc work without problem on a stock suspension C63?

I was able to clean up the car today and take some pictures of the Forgestar fitment on my C63 after my mods to allow running 275 rears and to fix the front rubbing on the coilover adjustment collar. (As mentioned in my original post, these are now a net +42 offset front and +53 offset rear.)

Here they are.

Damn that looks good! Makes me wanna order a set. Even the 275's look streched, don't know how they expect people to run a 265. Don't see that looking good.

The 275s are a bit stretched on the 10" wheel which is why I didn't want to go to a 265 and did all the things I needed to so I could run the wider tire.

Looks Great!

I'm running the same setup - Black C63 w/ GunMetal Forgestars and 245/35-19 - 275/30-19 Vredestein Sessantas.

However, I am running the stock suspension and there is no rubbing at all. Further, I believe that I can fit a 295 on the back. I'll be giving it a try next time around w/ the mods the car still can spin them up!

Sorry to ask but what does rolling the fenders actually mean?

It is basically folding the lip along the underside of the fender up so that it does not stick as far into the wheel well. It is usually done with a rolling tool. On the C63 there is not a lot of material to roll, but if done well, can gain you about 4mm of additional clearance.

meh, I picked up my wheels today. Went with 265.

Man, this car needs a drop. Looks like a 4x4 with the stock suspension. Will post pics when I get home.

Watch out for rubbing once you drop it.

The colour is really close to that darker colour on the factory AMG 5 star (on the inside of the star)...but more metallic

Totally hear you...but it sounds like alot of your rubbing was due to your coilover clearance and the offset of the wheel....

I'm going to be running the H&R springs.....

It's all about stance for me so i dont mind doing a little extra work for the right squat

Thanks for the heads-up

does the negative camber increase on the rear if you drop the car?
