7G Tronic dead*
My transmission in is dead. Only 1st and 2nd gear work. When you shift into 3rd only the revs go up and that's it...
Left it at the dealership - they worked on it 4 hours today and can't diagnose the problem.
Any ideas?

Any recent WOTs, stop light to stop light action, burn-outs? actually don't answer this yet till the problem is fixed

No nothing! And what really bugs me
I was driving really really slow in C mode for about 120km and then i stopped to pick up my girlfriend. I turned the enigne off and after 5 minutes when I drove away again, the car started to jolt (is that the word?) when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. After 40km the 3rd gear just died. No idea what caused it.
It is under warranty but it sucks to be without the car on Easter holiday...

my transmission was doa from the vpc. my dealer got amg on the phone and they were able to walk them thru finding the problem. i think the dealer wound up replacing the valve bodies, tcu and reflashing the whole thing with a disk that amg sent them and I havent had any problems since.

Did you have the same problems? Gearbox choking while shifting up or no gears 3-7 at all?
How long did it take them to fix it?

mechanics noticed it while they were doing the pre delivery checks. I had to wait about a week but most of that was the parts hung up in customs. you shouldnt have that problem.

My car is up and running again
I picked it up this morning and everything's fine.
At the dealership they replaced the K1 Clutch - no idea what the K1 stands for (nothing to do with Kleeman)
The overall cost was about 3000 PLN ($1100) - fully covered MB under warranty.

I don't know what to tell you. I left my car at the dealer, waited 3 days and picked it up. The report said that the K1 clutch has been replaced and since then I've driven 15'000km without any problems

The European warranty is a bit different. I'm not sure but I believe my car had a two year warranty without mileage limits.
The warranty ended on 31 May 2010
And now after 19 months my car is showing 98'000km on the odometer. Hope nothing serious goes wrong before I get rid of it
