Question Question about sport mode?

If your in Sport mode and you start in S1 will the car
shift at redline in every gear?

Just got a pair of M/T drag radials and I am going to the track
tonight and want to make sure.

Anything else I should know?

ESP Off?
Tire pressures?
Launch RPM?

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, but I had a small problem and won't be going
to the track tonight.

I ordered a pair of Mandrus Mannheim wheels to mount my
M/T 265/40R18 drag radials on and I just tried to bolt them
on the car and they don't fit, calipers hit.

Wheel specs. are 18 x 19.5 ET53 and was told they
would fit a C63.

Bummer, Petro. Pretty much any wheel with a big lip is a potential no-go. You need the right offset and design. You can always try a small spacer since this is a track only setup. Be sure to get extended bolts to match the spacer thickness. Looking forward to your track results.

Thanks super.

I was thinking the same thing about the spacer and longer bolts.
Just waiting for a call back from the shop I bought the wheels from
to see what they have to say.

I thought about that too but my plan was to have a set
of wheels and tires dedicated for track time only.

Just a warning about spacers. I tried a 5 and 3mm spacer and I got vibration in the car since the hubring was too covered up from the spacer. The 3mm vibrated less but it is still somewhat there. So your best bet is to get a spacer w/ a built in hubring and unfortunately H&R only provides that in a 10mm spacer.

Are those really C63 specific or are they quoting as "compatible" since we have a similar offset with the Cs? I'd call Eibach to make sure they can take the torque our cars dish out.

My tire guy said something great..."Why would you want to put tire spacers on a car this nice"...he's got a point. Change the offset, but if you can't fit tires, a spacer is probably not the best avenue...

Yes to the Sport mode question...start is S1 and it will shift at/before redline...supposedly slower than "M" shifting, but most can't judge (or don't feel like worrying about it) enough to shift on their own.

Good luck with the tire thing...hope you can find a good/safe workaround.

Just remember to do a good burnout in M mode. You don't want the car shifting gear while doing a burnout.

M/T when new require a good burnout to get the first layer of rubber off.

The tires are not the problem the wheels are the problem.
I was told they fit a C63 and clearly they don't(calipers hit).

Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do was use spacers.
These wheels are just for track(1/4 mile) use.

The shop who sold me these is not returning my calls.

Sexxy wheels!! Sorry about the fitment problem, though. If you haven't mounted the tires onto the car, I'm sure most vendors would take them back and fix them. It's only when you've mounted tires that things get messy. Good luck!

what is your 60" time?

According to Vbox, I ran 11.7 and 0-60 is 3.7 and trap was 122.3 mph. but i do not do power brake at all as we run on regular road here. my 60 feet is always in between 1.9 and 2.2 and time is 11.7 is best and 11.8 once and 12.0 usually. but when I launch i push the car forward slowly and then accelerate slow to the redline in 1st gear and oly in 2nd I floor it as otherwise in spins my MT on regular road.

I have same as u are, stg2 mhp with full exhaust and flash.

BTW what tire pressure u run? and I was very interested in 60" time you getting!
and also please let me know, do you launch in S1 ?
