Many thanks.. A little push and up she goes..makes it much easier to check the oil..

You can do it.

Go to your trip computer, and press the steering wheel buttons "down" over and over. Get to a setting with just a large digital speedo.

I hate the keyless go. Mine barely works has a range of about 2 inchs. About half the time I have to actually take the keys out of my pocket for it to work. My BMW keyless works flawlessly.

That is exactly why I passed on this model. Maybe a better interior will appear in two years. Sekurit glass sucks -- the better glass is American, PPG. Benz uses both. The Sekurit on my C43 pitted, the PPG on my C55 is crystal clear 5 years out. Perhaps this is due to the "blue glass" option on my car. Funny thing is, the interior is also the reason I passed on the C32 and went for the C55 after my C43.

I find that anything in my pocket that is metal blocks the signal.

Then I would wager that there's something mechanically wrong - my keyless go works flawlessly from a couple feet away (same with my GL).

Don't like transmission. Want to able to shift faster in up or down. Like M or Ferrari. Need those double clutch. Need vented hood also. More carbon parts like carbon roof, etc and get those weight down.

It's great to read a thread about what not to like about it. It's the car i've fawned over for awhile now and cant wait to get a test drive in. I hope it to be my first Benz, just gotta wait for the pay raise to enjoy all these frustrating options.

Interesting thread. There seems to be 4 categories of items identified by all of us:

1. Those that relate to the lack of knowledge on how the car works and its options

2. Those that would significantly increase the price of the car either by adding more upgraded mechanical parts (e.g. LSD, transmission, ...) or by losing economies of scale with the regular C-Class (e.g. rear fenders, glove box, ...)

3. Those that would have made us happier without significantly changing the cost by much - but hard to modify by ourselves (e.g. noisy ventilation)

4. Same as 3 but easy to change (e.g. tire size)

I can read the manual for Category 1 and I didn't pay for Category 2 so I cannot complain too much. I have already changed what I found important in Category 4 (tires and ECU) so I'm left with Category 3. My favorite things to hate are:

- The navigation system that does not show all the street names where I live (in Toronto, not exactly a small city).

- The bluetooth connection that does not sync the update of my phonebook

- The interior cabin feels like too much plastic. Depending on the weather, I hear vibration here and there but never at the same spot and it's not constant so very hard to fix. The long ventilation grid at the rear is my worst enemy. But perhaps this one falls in Category 2 (I paid for a C-Class not an E-Class).

I read the comments about mirrors and Ipod integration but I don't have those issues. Maybe it's because the US model seems to be less equipped than the Canadian or ROW models.

I was thinking about the gripes I had the other day while the car was in for service but when I got it back and after driving it for a few hours in manual mode, I honestly forgot about everything else.

Thanks Alex, I had already seen this when going through the owner’s manual after I brought the car and found it too small. I’m use to the numeric characters in some of my cars being about an inch and a half high and would prefer the same in the C63. Still it’s not a complaint, it would just assist my bad eyes when continuously checking speed for all the fixed speed cameras in my area. All up I brought the car for the package it is, if I wasn’t very happy with it, I’d get rid of it and buy something else. I can’t see that happening soon.

C63 AMG 2009
gripes

as some of you already mentioned, a lot of things we would like to have improved would have increased the price of the car as well. the package or value of this car or fun factor per USD cannot be had in any other car. there will always be trade offs. i do think this is a great thread though because these are all good suggestion for the next C....AMG, i hope they listing in germany.
i am surprised i hear very few complaints about the side bolster support which in my opinion should allow us to to set up the seat huggers slightly wider. i have a 32inch waste and like to work out but now that i own this car i am only allowed to work out my shoulders and chest, back is out of the question. i am comfortable with the setting on wide as posible but there is no room for
additional body fat etc.
also nobody seems to complain about the fact that it is impossible , at least in my car, to set up the right mirror such that when the car is put in reverse the mirror adjusts so you can see where you are going with the right rear wheels and avoid wheel rash against the curb when parallel parking. maybe i am missing something but i have tried many things. i have now followed somebodies suggestion to setup one of the other pre-set buttons in the door with a different setting of the right mirror. bad side about the system is that i have to keep holding the dang button until it has found the new setting rather then pushing it one time and finds the appropriate setting.
i still have an M3 and the wife a touareg and it works on those cars, this should have been a simple fix.

i do love the fact the this car is not over loaded/bloaded with technology like the new M3. after 2 M3's i thought i was going to get an other one until i test drove the beast. it may not be as nimble but at least you can still feel where this animal is going. and can you hear that growl! HELLLOOO!

No ofense but the vast majority of the list are minor "inconvenience/comfort"stuff. The real issue from the engineering stand point has been the poor decision of the tires, the rims width and the lack of flrae wider rear fenders(quarter panel or whatever you want to call it).

It is unaceptable that this car runs on ****ty a$$ 255. This is probably a car that shouldbe inscribedregistered in the guiness book of being the car with the most power with the lesser tire surface. The ****tiest part of all is that the engineers did not leave room to fit much larger needes rims.

I personally could care less if the list grows to 100 whinny comfort items. The most important issue has always been the traction, followed by the lack of rear LSD (should be standard).

This car could have been significantly faster, brake better and had better gas mileage had the engineer put decent rubber and lighten the car a little bit, 3960lbs on a local scale with 1/4 gas tank ain't cool.

This is my wife's biggest complaint, she is 6'1 and a marathon (okay half marathon heh..) runner, she cannot sit comfortably in the passenger seat without the "wings" jabbing her in the back.

2010 C63
had the c63 for about a month now, and reading all of this there is a lot of room for improvement.

I feel that the biggest mistakes MB has made are the:
1)door pins.
a) they look like crap, and b) i can't smoke a cigarette normally, nor put my hand on the window... (any recommendations on that? )
2)Ipod integration in the little glove box does NOT make sense, it should be in the armrest(my infiniti had that lol)
3) Folding mirrors
4) Back-up sensors
5) Wider tires...
6)Bigger tank
7) AMG Button!!!

Why does an M3 have one....
My friend has his set which turns off traction, lowers the suspension, and tightens it.

Anyway these issues are minor and the car itself has such an amazing ride that i close my eyes on these things...

but the door pins are just a joke!

Did I mention before not having a vented aluminum hood? They give us aluminum fenders, but one heavy-*** hood. Also need more ventilation in the engine bay to let all of that heat escape. Everytime I park in the garage, I have to open the hood up.

A lot of the comfort features listed as lacking in some parts of the world are available stock here, e.g. audio integration, folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors etc.

The big issue for me is being under tyred. I had to go aftermarket to fix that.

I wish it had been engineered with enough space to install forced induction.

Very true, the fact we have to put up with those is a complete disgrace.
