2010 C63 Demo in Toronto
Hello All,
First post here. Looking for some assistance from fellow Canadians. There is a 2010 C63 demo available, with just under 8k km. It has carbon fiber trim, amg performance and premium packages. (I think that is around 75K msrp) They are asking 69k for it. Not a hell of a discount for 8k km!!
Can I get some assistance on what my top limit should be? Would base msrp of $63k be pushing it? Or very fair? How about $60k? Will the Sales Manager kick me out of the dealership? Or are these cars just not moving, and they will take whatever they can get?
10% discount takes it to 67k. How many 1000 off should I expect per 1000 km's used? The benefit of a demo over a used here, is I get the better residual and better lease rate. Plus I don't have to pay the 1200 gas tax and 2000 green levy.
Thoughts?

Hi FBTO, welcome to the forum! Buying a C63 demo with performance package might not be a good idea... those cars are driven hard on test drive... so the break in period might not have been respected.
On the other hand, you should at least ask them for 10% off 'cuz I got mine for 5% off brand new. TO dealers are hard to deal though, I tried already, and they only gave me 2%. The new 2011 is coming soon, it's a good time to bargain for the remaining 2010.

Well, I can do the math for you.
MSRP: $63,500
Premium Package: $4,800
Performance Package: $6,000
Carbon Fiber Trim: $2,500
Freight and PDI: up to $1,995
Green Levy Tax: $2,000
A/C Tax: $100
Tire Levy: $20
Total Before tax: $80,995
If they offer you $69K for it, that is a $11,955 discount.
Not bad at all I think you should take it. We usually do $1/km at my dealership so I think it is a reasonable offer at $69K

Since your leasing the car, ask the sales rep. to lower the interest rate. If you can get even 0.5%, thats is a good bonus and take the car. Which dealer is it?

8000 km's is a used car...definitely not a demo...
They definitely beat the shi+ out of the demos (anyone who has gone on a testdrive / hell run up and down the DVP can attest to that....
It's up to you but don't go in there thinking that is was "executive driven" because its a coporate network in the GTA (not independant dealers), and they send that demo to any dealership that needs it for a test drive.

PS. do you drive the IS-F?

It's a good idea to drive all of them (helps in negotiations too)
I drove the M3 / RS4 / IS-F / CTS-V....
The only real contender for me was the CTS-V but with options it was way over $80K and they are already depreciating very hard.....2009's are already $50k at the auctions....
You wont regret your purchase of a C63....

Thanks! I can't decide where to go next.
New 2010 C63
Used 2008+ C63
New 2010 ISF
used 2005+ 997
used 2008+ M3
New 2011 335is coupe
New/Used C350
Should I blow a big wad of cash, or be conservative, and get a "Practical" daily driver. I am running around 500km per week right now.
I love performance, but most of the time, I will be in traffic on the 401. I might do like 3 or 4 track days. I also have a motorcycle to get the speed craving out of my system.

So what made you decide on the 63? How did those other cars not spark your interest.
I know that sound of the C63 sends tingles through me..... (Esp. when the dealer sparks up that bad boy in the showroom!! WOW!!)

The RS4 felt sluggish because of the Quattro...
The IS-F and the M3 were very low on Torque in comparison
I liked the CTS-V but the quality was not there and knew the depreciation would be huge with all the troubles GM was having....
But the test drive sold me.....451 hp, 7 speed paddleshift with LSD and you can turn the traction control completely off!
Plus it sounds like a 70's big block
Mine is a daily driver too...QEW everyday into downtown

And, what is wrong with a demo if it under full warranty and is being leased. By the time the lease is up, the new 5.5L TT will be out.
Remember, the things are just cars. You buy it, use it, sell it (or give it back) and get another one. It is not like I am going to hand this car down to my kids in 20 years.

plus most of the time the tester bags it before the car is even up to temperature.
