Coilovers!!
I have 100% decided to buy a set of either Bilstein PSS10's or KW V3's so just need some opinions and if you can, please vote for which one your prefer or recommend.
I'd also be really grateful if I could also have some feedback to the questions below regarding Coilovers as I've never had a set before...
- I believe the Bilstein PSS10's are much much easier to adjust than the KW's? Just how difficult are the KW's to adjust in comparison and is it something that can be done without taking the wheels off?
- Will Coilovers make the suspension / ride any noisier over bumps or rough surface than the stock suspension?
- Will my ride be harder or give more vertical body movement than stock? Or will it be smoother?
- Does anyone know what other differences there are between KW and Bilstein versions?
Thanks in advance!
Andrew

I don't think bilstein has a dedicated kit for c63, the c350 pss10 will work, but kw v3 has more adjustments and has a kit that is dedicated to c63.
i will go with kw v3

Bilsteins do have make coilovers for C63. Op got the part number right. From the information I got, Bilsteins is more comfortable, and it's easier to adjust. However, the KWV3s have more adjustment possible. The difference in price is only a few hundred dollars. So it is totally up to you.

Mercedes C63 amg, Bmw X5,
I got one question whats the difference between kwv3 coilovers and kw clubsport coilovers. Are CS better in any way or should I just take the kw v3? I also hear theres no warranty on CS cause they are manily meant to be for track use.

I've had H&R coilovers on my car for three weeks now. Coming from the PP suspension, I have to say that the H&Rs are much more compliant, despite being more than an inch lower than before. The handling of the car has improved tremendously. They also cost less than half the KW V3s! I am absolutely 100% satisfied. My 2 cents.

i see you live in loughborough, one advantage to kw v3 is you can adjust it to almost stock height. i used to live in nottingham, you don't get snow there, so h&r seems like the way to go!

I know application says C350 but I remember someone here saying they work for our cars perfectly. If you call Bilsteins they can comfirm it. The bad news, I HEARD from James@ACGSD last month that the wait time is ~4 months.

You've not been over here in winter for a while I assume? The last couple of winters have been terrible with 'proper' snow and because we don't have to use winter tyres by law, most people just have their summer tyres on. This means when we do have a bad winter like in the last couple of years, the country, and I mean the COUNTRY comes to a stop! Stupid English people huh!

Interesting point about the ride height - I assumed all Coilovers would allow adjustment from stock to 'x' amount lower. Do they not all go up to stock height (as I don't really want to lower the car much - 10mm maximum).

the height adjustable range on h&r kit are 1.2 - 2.3 inches front and 1.0 - 2.2 inches rear.
i went with kw v3. installed 2 days ago, and i am really impressed how it improved the car's handling!
the ride wasn't harsh at all with middle setting for rebound and middle setting for damping!

Well I have the KW V3 and there isn't any ride height adjustment in the back (unless you compress the springs). The ride height they do impose is pretty good, but not slammed. In the front it's really adjustable easily (you still need to remove the wheel).
The ride is quite smooth at high speed and a bit stiffer than stock at low speeds (can be adjusted). The steering response and handling is light years ahead from stock. Great mod, I'd do it again!

C63 AMG Arctic w/ Stage 1 Tune, DoubleXX pipe, MCD-631X coming soon
H&R's are ok, however they do lack in the dampening dept. especially in the rebound valving. Bu the price is very good, as well as the quality, but they are "stripped down" in terms of adjustment, and valving.

OK guys, it seems that the general consensus is that the KW V3's are the best ones to have.
TBH, price doesn't really come into it; the difference between them all means that I'd rather spend the extra and get the KW's so that's exactly what I've done.
So, I've ordered the KW V3's which will be fitted in a couple of weeks once AMG have finished fitting my full leather dash.
Setting them up will be the next challenge but I do have a contact here in the UK who just happens to know the guy who sets up AMG's suspension systems at the Nurburgring. As he also does freelance work, he's going to arrange for him to set my car up once I've had the kit fitted which is just an awesome result!
If this actually comes off, I'll have the KW V3's properly set up on the Nurburgring by the person who specialises in doing just this on AMG's!
