ORDERING DUNLOP DIREZZA STAR SPEC.....

Got a nail on the sidewall of the tire today and wanted to change the tires anyway so Im pulling the trigger on the dunlop star spec tires tonight. So the big question is 265's or 275's??? I want 275's but dont want any rubbing.

Stock 18" rims? are you lowered on springs, or do you have coilovers?

stock 18" and stock suspension, you will be fine with 275!

slk32(gone), 08 c63.
you won't be disappointed. After breaking in these tires, i don't get any wheel spin on a sunny day. I just simply step on the gas pedal from a dead stop! (i'm stock with kn filter) Yes, it's that impressive!

I'm lowered on hr springs, and i have 265's on the back. No rubbing!

They are absurdly amazing... Iku is correct, you CAN get full traction from a stop, that's how good the dry traction is....

With that said they run real wide. To put it in perspective ... 255 dunlap Z1's have a one inch wider contact patch than 255" pilot sport PS2s. In fact the 255 pilot sports PS2s are exactly the same size as the 225 Z1s (yes 3 sizes smaller).

On stock suspension 275s should be ok

Yup, my car has stock suspension.
OK, i put in the order and they should be arriving by next week Monday or Tuesday. They are the 275's.
Ive driven on these tires on an m5 a while back and loved them. Ill take some pics when i mount them on. Thanks for the advice guys.

:-(

In the same boat but couldn't find a dealer selling the Star Specs (in Poland). Having read the review they were my #1 choice followed by the Toyo's but the lead time on the latter was 3-4 weeks so I ended up with a rear set of 275 Vredensteins which are going on my stock 19" next week.

Did you consider the Bridgestone RE-11 ? Tire Rack rates them higher.

Actually those were my second choice. It was a toss between the dunlops or the re-11's. I ended up going with the dunlops because i have had a great experience with them. Im going to give the re-11's a try after i wear down the dunlops. Ive only heard great things about the re-11's and would love to try them out.

RE-11 just passed them in the last few weeks so that may be another tire to consider, but for a LONG time Z1s were king. The RE-11s are available in more sizes than the Dunlap Z1 or Kuhmo XS (very few if any 19" sizes).

I'm actually about to pick up the c on tuesday with a fresh set of these. I have H&R coilovers and 275's so I guess I'll let everyone know whether or not they'll rub... I'm probably only going an inch lower than stock though.

I have really liked the cut and the wearability of the Bridgestone Potenza RE 760 Sports.

Excellent stick, great pattern, and soft enough for when you need it.

I just checked them out. Tread looks really nice, looks like they really grip. Tire rack reviews were all positive, And very well priced. These will be on my top list for future tires. Thanks for letting me know about these.
