10k trunk money released for 2010 c63
I would have thought it was too good to be true if it was not for the forum here....msrp was $68705...The 56k was their advertised price...before any conversion at all. Ended up with another K off and I had to do it. One car had 90 miles the other (same options) had 350 miles.
I gotta go drive some more....must reach 1000 miles by weeks end
They did after some negotiation with the GM, and I got nearly $17k off MSRP on my loaded minus CF 09 (this was last year). They got the car from another dealer as well - keep that in mind too, your local dealer doesnt necessarily need to have the car you want. Mine didnt have any C63's at all.
Your trade-in has a value that is pretty much a given. You could always find a private buyer for your trade but you loose the tax advantage. Most dealers are able to give a price for your trade-in over phone conversations....carmax is also an option for your car. They will buy your ride straight out even if you don"t buy a car from them.

Only issue is getting your private party to go along. I usually say it will save them time since the dealer will take care of registration, licensing, etc. They will have to pay sales tax on the trade-in price, but they would have to anyway once they title it with the local DPS office. Some private party will fudge a little on the purchase price to lessen the tax, but its minimal. In TX its only 6.25%.
I've had some dealers try to throw in some document fees, vehicle inventory tax, etc. But they will usually waive those things since you are buying a new car. I think they have to show they at least made a profit so I usually settle on a $100 fee. They could probably even waive that.
I've done this on the last 3 or 4 cars I've bought. Its really most advantageous when the difference between trade-in value and private party value is substantial.

However just stick with a $15k off sticker price and get up if they say your offer is ridiculous.
Every time i got up they kept asking me to sit back down until i finally got the $15k off.
But it might have also helped that they three 2010 c63's sitting in the lot and wanted to get rid of them quick.
I just got mine this past weekend.
