So I am driving my loaner car....E550C!

And it was an E550C! Pretty sweet ride.

Would be a great sub if I didn't want all that performance.

But the one thing I noticed is that the paddles shift seem much faster than my C63!!

Much!!

I know so of you mention that the car learns your driving style. Does this car have the transmission as the C? And if yes, how do I train my C to shift like this E?

It's probably a better tranny which is usually reserved for anything that is not a C class.

Generic C class yes, but are all the 63's using the same tranny across the MB lineup?

The C63 is fitted with the rather nice AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Hence the blips in S & M mode and sounds like a dinosaur....gurgling gravel on when letting the engine slow the car down by itself. It is not the same as in the standard C-class.

I drove the E550 (E500 European version) in Europe and the gearbox was not faster than my C63. It sounds like you need to reset your transmission memory and clean out it's cobwebs.

How do you reset the transmission memory?

I'm not aware of the ability to reset the transmission. However, you can reset the adaptive throttle control.. (search for it, its mentioned here a few times, I cannot remember the sequence)

this one?

1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

That would be the one, but that has nothing to do with the transmission, that is the ATC which I find annoying my driving styles change radically depending on traffic and conditions.. I wish I could just disable it, set it to the most aggressive setting, and leave it :P

I thought this didn't work for our cars (08+)?

Yes that's the one! I believe it works on all models. Try it out then report back. I have only reset once, a while back, otherwise almost everyday my rev counter passes 7,000rpm at least once.

Seriously. Thought the M3 was too complex...but I guess that's what we're looking for with the adjustable settings.

Either way, Sport should be SPORT
