Chased by a GSXR-750 up San Gabriel Canyon.
I was driving up San Gabriel Canyon while being chased by a GSXR-750 I usually pull over to the side when bikes come up behind me, but i wanted to see how the C63 would do. I was surprised how well the C63 held its own. Especially in the straights. The GSXR-750 was pretty much on my tail on the twists and turns but the AMG just kept pulling on him in the straights.
I was wondering how a stock or tuned C63 would do against a GSXR-750 in a straight line race. Any one have any experience running with these bikes on the FWY? Or any other bike for that matter?

i took a GSXR-600 in a straight line to 100. took it off the line but he caught up and passed me and he had a car length on me. after that, we were even to 100. i think the rider didn't know how to ride as a i thought all bikes could take cars unless it was a ferrari or lambo.

Ya its pretty much bone stock, except for K&N filters, took off the charcoal filters and deleted the resonators. I really don't know if he was pushing it, but im sure he would lose me if i were behind him.

This is a little but as far as "a win is a win" if you want to see something funny check out the thread I posted in the C43 section titled "beat the 335I by a nose" I nosed out a 335I on the freeway and I posted the story on this forum, little did I know it was going to cause a ***** storm. If you are looking for a good laugh check it out. Granted there had been 100+ posts but it is worth the read if you have the time, TRULY funny.

Yeah stock C63 definitely isn't running 11.6 1/4 miles so I'm sure with a competent/confident rider you would of been smoked BUT it sounds like you had him for a minute and a WIN is a WIN!!!.

I just read your thread. You really gave that 335i a run for his money, haha. Thats why i love AMG's, they always tend to "out muscle" BMW's.

A truly skilled rider on a CBR600 or similar bike would eat you up. A GSXR750 with a rider that could REALLY push-you wouldn't have a chance. Simple power to weight. ALOT of guys riding sportbikes are squids-they can go reasonably fast in a straight line but have no idea how much braking and cornering ability their machine actually has.

Stumbled on this forum while searching info, read it all.
If you think a 600 is faster then a 750 look at stats again.
The new 750 is only 370 in weight and the 600 is 359 not a big difference there.
Unless you think you are faster then a Nissan Skyline(new model) 2011. I have raced one. I never power shifted, clutched in all the time, roll off from 80 to 200 I was about 4-5 cars lenghts ahead.
The new gsxr-750 is known to be able to hit 10.3 seconds on the quarter mile.
I know this post is old, but for who ever reads in the future and thinks they are faster then the legendary suzuki 750 should reconsider.
This summer will be doing the quarter mile myself and test it out.
I doubt my bike does over 11 seconds when my Maxximx750 1985 is hitting 12.0 and the gsxr pulls way more ....
Bottom line after you read this, the limit is the same 50 over and there goes your license. All or nothing.

Like the other guy said, lots of guys on sport bikes can't ride worth **** and the guys who can ride would laugh at most cars that try to run against them cause they know its a waste of time.

This. 600's usually get to 60 around 3.0 seconds. The BMW S1KRR(My personal dream bike) will get to 60 in 2.8 seconds. You don't stand a chance against a liter bike.

Not quite sure where you are getting your numbers from but a GSXR 750 runs in the 10s all day long
If you can pump a 600 out of the hole then the guy can't ride

I had a white Hayabusa (never saw this color before but pretty sure it was one..you guys that know bike please chime in) freaking destroy me on Palomar mountain (uphill, downhill, straights, and corners) in the C63. You got to have ***** of steel to ride one of those. He was having fun playing with me for sure. I'll be looking for him in the 996TT but I'm sure the results will be similar.

For Callmiro, instead of assuming, google a bit for info.
As most people do not know the new gsxr-750 this is considered 2008-2011 model, will be doing an average of low 10s on the quarter mile all day long. (of course you must be a driver) (and yes stock)
Now for thoses who say the liter are faster and more better yes in some casses. The weight is a big difference for cornering and all.
And if you look at the 01 to 03 models of the liter they are performing in average 10s which the new 750 will do the lower 10s.
Yes the new liter are faster but by how much ?
750 10.26 second and older liter are averaging 10.1 or 1.09
R1 yamaha 2000 does 10.26
The new liter will do quarter mile in average from 9.7 to 9.9
ODD ??? the 750 matched the quater mile of the 1000 ?
And just in case, here are the links to some info for you .
So far my gixxer went to 285 Km/h and pulled the front wheel up at 210 km/h, stock engine, quarter mile is coming once snow melts, 6 months hahahah.
http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/428/Mo...-GSX-R750.aspx
http://www.sportrider.com/performanc...s/viewall.html
Again theses are all in stock readings.
And in the end it become preference for the driver. For me the 750 is my choice, only for weight to torque ratio and cornering

Assuming??? Google???
Buddy...i've owned 6 bikes and 3 were GSXR's. I don't need to google crap cuz my post was speaking out of experience and being at the track with each one of my bikes....
And your post verifies my first statement.....that a GSXR 750 is in the 10's all day
I'm not sure what you are tryin to say?

The links are there, and ok you owed 6 bikes wow, they only made 6 models in all theses years ?
Ummm best buddy runs a Gixxer shop, see the specs been to the shows.
Internal engine parts are not the same from back 10 years ago. The design and contructivity of the parts either.
Have an open mind. Not saying the 750 is the faster production bike made. But the new models are obviously faster then the older ones and faster then most older liter's out there ( again in the 01-03 range) and the specs are there in the link from older models to newer ones.
So next post you put, instead of saying well because I said so and owned so many bikes. link me up some prouf, i did ?
Again this is considered from stock, alot can be done on the bikes for more power.
