Unless you track your car, I don't think you'll really need them or be able to take full advantage of them. Besides, they'll likely be squeaky and scary early in the mornings until they've warmed up.

YES I DO TRACK MY CAR. ACTUALLY THESE ARE THE 2ND GENERATION SO THEY DON'T NEED TO BE WARMED UP. I KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.

FOR ME RIGHT NOW ITS EITHER THE GTR BREMBO OR MOVIT CERAMIC

I had PCCBs on a 997 before and they really don't perform that radically different on the track during DEs than the steel Big Reds do. Fade seems almost equal, imho. But the PCCBs don't eat pads as much on the track, so I assumed that they probably weren't heating up quite as much. I think it's just that the Big Reds dissipate heat pretty well so fade felt close to the PCCBs.

But you have a lot less unsprung weight and rotational mass which is the biggest noticeable advantage, imho. That's the big plus.

The only advantages on the street are way less brake dust and that they last longer than conventional rotors. And you shouldn't go through pads as often. Otherwise you won't really notice a huge difference in real world daily driving, imho. The C63 has excellent brakes as it is.

Whether the price is worth that is up to you.

Edit: never mind about the C63 brakes, I see you have the M3. By all means get better brakes!! I think the OEM brakes are the biggest weak link in the M3.

Thanks for the help! like I said I have never used ceramic brakes before!! I guess the Brembo GTR is just as good.

you know I never got this kind of information on the BMW forums. Nice to have friends in different places.

Id go for the carbon ceramic brakes. Never seen a CC brake setup on an M3 before.
How much is the kit? im guessing as much as the brembo GTR.

Right. I tried the cliff notes version below the German but since that didn't work...

Translation:

The ideal solution for the situation is the Ceramic brake GEN. 3 package with 380x40 Millimeter sized discs and 6 piston caliper on the front axle. (11.412 Euro including VAT) as well as the 380x32 Millimeter sized discs with 4 piston calipers on the rear axle.(9812 Euro). MOV´IT offers the whole brake system for the BMW M3 including a TÜV certificate, so that without any problems the driver can record this system on their cars paperwork. (Required in Germany, and maybe elsewhere, I only know about Germany.)

They sure are pretty, and I don't doubt they work well, but the cost is astronomical. One thing is for sure, I will have brake envy if you do get them.

I do visit German quit a bit for business but I still have to learn it.

I actually got offered a promotional discount because I would be the first to buy these brakes so.......

I got offered : $24,000 usd front and rear.

for the brembo GTR I didn't get any super discount or what not. so I think my final price was $15,000 usd front and rear.

I asked if I could transfer the brakes on to my car and this was his reply

And yes we can transfer almost full system to the next car, 100% in the front, only need new hat and bracket.

Rear depends on the chassis, but I think bimmer will be no problem.

so I said I would think about. then he came back with a very interesting spec.

the disc from MOVIT never less a mm since Generation 2, 396x36mm on RS6 after 2 years and 25000km, still 36mm !!

so basically if I buy a new M5 and put 900HP on it I will have the brakes way longer the most of my cars.

and asia is stop and go traffic most of the time.

what a tuff choice

Well my car is the fastest in Asia right now! I'm breaking in my new motor as I speak.

I got a built motor done to my car and lower compression. also a new larger supercharger set up.

I also installed a new clutch that can handle 900whp.

my car will hit about 650-660whp on a AWD dyno dynamic. And believe me these dynos read low.

I'm still thinking about which brakes! thanks! You guys are great with all the friendly advise

Dude,

Mov'it seem like great guys and I've heard nothing but good about their products - specially from Porsche guys. However, the price on these is just crazy! (and I don't normally say this). For that sort of money, I'd go with AP. If you need something larger than they have for their kit, simply call them up and talk to them. They do rotors in all sorts of sizes and I'm sure they can accommodate your needs (for a price, likely less than these ceramics).

For the price not worth it at all. You are better off just getting two-piece lightweight steel rotors to shave of a bunch of unsprung mass and getting stainless steel brake lines. Steel rotors gives you better pedal feedback anyways.

The most you should be spending on brakes is a good 2-3k. 10x that price is difficult to justify .... even for Bill Gates ... especially on a car that is technically normal road car.
