18"x8.5 Forgestar F14 wheel - wheel specification (rated load = 1200!)
Hi everyone, I am new here, just wanna say Hi to all.
I have dark grey 2008 C63 for over 1.5 years now and i still enjoy it much.
I would like to order a 18"x8.5 Forgestar F14 wheel (flow form in matt black) for track use but when I read through the test report on its official website, it says - wheel specification (rated load = 1200), wonder if any member have used these wheels for track before, any comment pls?
Should i still order it for track?

hi superlub,
i read and noticed you have ordered a 2nd set, therefore i have some Qs would be much appreciated if you could help to offer some professional advice:
1) does the 2nd set come with a higher "load rate" of 1500 (since your 1st set were 1200 if i read correctly?? (oh btw, yours are flow foarming or forged?)
2) if i order from foregstar now for the same set of wheels, would i mostly likely get a wheel w load rate of 1200 or 1500, any idea?
FYI, i actually wrote directly to the Standards Testing Laboratories (STL) who actually did the test report and i asked them with the wheel they tested for 1200 load rate, it is safe enough to go for track use w a car weight like C63, but sadly T.Dietz (from STL) replied me nothing and said they could not disclose any info. at all about this test report. (may be I asked the wrong party here, but all i wanna know is how safe would it be to track my c63 under vigorious driving with this wheel spec., thats's all....)
thx for your kind input mate.

All new sets should be stamped/rated @ 1520-lbs. I would contact your vendor or Forgestar to verify.
All of the F14 1-piece wheels are flow formed, not forged.

Hi superlub,
according to what you mentioned in your write up before, with a wheel of load rate - 1520 lbs, i guess you also believe it would be much safer to track your c63 with this rating compare w 1200 lbs, right?

Just FYI,
Forgestar doesn't make the F14 in Matte Black anymore. They had too many complaints about the paint chipping from customers. You will have to pay an additional amount to have Forgestar custom powdercoat them Matte Black. My F14 19's cost an additional $250 for the entire set for the powdercoat.
Also, the wait on these wheels are also very long. Many vendors are told by Forgestar 4-6 weeks but they have been talking a lot longer. I heard someone on here say they waited 15 weeks. From what I heard Forgestar's selling out of these wheels before the containers reach the US.
