CLK63 Black Series
Aren't they designed to accept those cheap chrome caps?

The power window switches could use a make over as well.

As stated once by someone here:

I did not buy the car for the expensive door pins, but for the expensive engine.

And how-in-the-world could you possibly be stabbed in the arm by the door pins?! I mean... you should have an extra elbow or something in the arm to go all around the super-tight seats and reach the door pin with your arm.

That or you are Michael Jordan.

Lower your window and put your arm on the sill. The door pin doesn't stab you?

Unless you are driving with the steering wheel right up against your chest, gramma style...

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, the door pins

They really suck and I agree that they are in the way when you put your arm out the window.
First time I test drove the car I rolled the window down to hear the exhaust and then hung my arm out the window and said WTF as I was poked in the arm by the ugly little thing!

Even my 2005 CLK has tiny little pins that sit flush when the door is locked--I guess it's a coupe thing.

I can confirm the E63 has the exact same pins when I test drove one it was the first thing I noticed when I shut the door--really out of place on that car!

Another cheesey part, which I commented on before, is the ugly silver painted plastic piece around the shifter boot--come on now!

There have been pins sold on ebay, they are around $65.. not that big of a deal, but they are the CF AMG ones, and honestly, I am not a big fan of CF. Anyone seen plain old stainless ones, or pseudo fake stainless or silver pins.. hell I will take black ones.. but I do like the AMG logo on the top

yeah I'm going to ordersome new pins too and I can't decide--I know there are some expensive $100 each ones that others have used, but honestly just small black plastic would work for me, if I can't find any I may end up spending $400 needlessly on the AMG ones!!

Sweet, I like the aluminum ones on the last link.. I suspect the chrome on the ebay ones are cheap, and might start to flake off after a while.

Doesn't your cars have a modus that will lock the door when you will drive faster then 10 mph? (or so) Don't exactly know what the name is for this item... You will have no doorpins in your arms, when you're chillin' around with your arm on the window...

Unfortunately, the US spec models, the door pins sit raised about 3/4 of an inch when in the locked position. Why... I do not know, since most other car manufacturers have flush pins, VW's have had them for years....

Once you replace them with after market pins, they will recess right into been completely flat with panel. Get rid of those OEM pins! BTW, the rears are a PITA to install and require the door panel to be taken off. Fronts are fairly easy.

I could care less about the door pins. To be honest with you, I don't know why everyone is even making a big deal about it.

To each his own, my friend. They look like they were molded in a Play Dough Fuzzy Pumper Number Nine and it bothers many a folk. How about some sleek, flush pins with led's in them that light when the alarm is on? Like Audi does.

Your definitely right about flushing the pins in the door. It gets annoying after a while, you cant even rest your arm on the door panel with the pins getting in your way.

You got to remember that even though its a c63 amg, its still only a C CLASS.

Next time splurge for the E class.

+1 for Brabus doorpins.

I think there's a lot of cheap, cheesy stuff in the C63's interior. It has the worst interior of any AMG by a long shot, but then again it's also the cheapest car and considered the "baby Benz," so I guess it makes sense. It still has the badass 6.2L engine, how bad could it be

That explains a lot... Could someone post a photo of a locked door pin in an US Spec C63? When I get home I'll post the euro-spec. My door pin stays completely inside the door when locked. No way I can get stabbed.
