I've got these tires on stock height now, had 'em for a few thousand miles no rubbing. However, if you lower, they'll almost certainly rub...based on the fact that there's almost no clearance on the inner rear part of the wheel well.

I agree with EM. It will likely rub the inside fender lining if lowered.

I was looking at the Nitto's earlier tonight and noticed that they are only speed rated at the highest 168mph (W) instead of the stock tires being "Y" 186mph?
They are rated for the correct load rating just not the MPH...
I guess it doesn't matter if you drive less than 168mph...

What kind of 60 ft times you getting at the track on them? You getting full traction on a hard launch?

I just got a set of 285 Nitto 555r on stock rear wheels. No rubbing issues at all. This is as big as you want to go on nthe stock rims, it is pushing the limits.
I paid for my pair $684 for two ater all the BS of taxes, balancing, dispossal of old tires, etc, etc. I personally don't recomend them. I cut only do 2.0 sec 60 with my current mods(see signature). I have done much better with the older Nitto 555S which have a threadwear of 400. Like I said , I DO NOT recommend them.
