What type of interest is there here for a carbon fiber C63 hood with vents?

I'm really surprised AMG didn't put vents in the OEM hood.
I live in a desert and it's 110* F outside right now, I could really benefit from some heat extraction.

Same here. After every drive, I always open the hood and leave it up overnight.

vented hood
I found the company that is selling the vented carbon hood that was on ebay. In California, but a little more pricey. Retails at 2k, but my shop price around 1300. 1200 each if more hoods are purchased.

Spoke to Carl, they won't be selling that specific vented hood anymore, but they are coming out with the stock CF hood soon. They can also entertain other vented hood designs if you provide them with details or pictures of what were interested in. Very responsive by email. I have to say again tho I think that design ^^^ is the best median between function and style. Anymore vents and it might look too aggressive.

Do you know what the OE hood weighs? I'm trying to figure out what the weight savings is if that info is available.
So, that sounds great, your hoods are 15 and even 10 lbs with dry carbon process. That is very light weight. Impressive.

I was just at the Jag dealership tonight and saw a XFR that has subtle hood vents. Here is a similar car:

Can we? sure....sure, but as you see here, we have lots of imput on different styles, and we cannot make a different hood for everyone, so we are tying to figure out what is best, and attarcts the most people.

For me I don't care where the vents go as long as they take heat out. Do u think by having the vents placed wherethe SL has them would help up or the front if beter. What you think would help us more.

I like the SL65 black series hood, I believe they are somewhat effective. But I think with a bit of a different design we can achieve more cooling.
