Hello guys, as promised here are pictures of my cf hood and trunk from Stone Carbon. Now i haven't ordered carbon fiber products before and not very familiar with cf products but i have to say the finishing looks excellent to me. The pattern is excellent but does have some verrrrryyyyyy small imperfections that you need to look very closely to see. And from what other friends have told me these small imperfections in the thread pattern is very normal. It is really difficult to have it woven. Overall i am very pleased. At the price that i got them you would be able to save $1000-$2000 from what other vendors are charging.

I don't have an actual weight saving spec as I haven't installed it yet because I'm still waiting on other things for my car to arrive (to be honest, the car can't be droven at the moment ). Anyways will try to get the information when i get it installed.

I'd just like to thank Carl from Stone Carbon for the great service and product that he's provided. Great guy and very easy to communicate with. Did everything and delivered just as promised. Took less than 10 days to manufacture everything and exactly 1 day of shipping by air freight. I'd also like to thank bad430benz for helping hook me up with Carl. Wouldn't have been able to do it without the two. Many thanks. Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Aziz

Aziz, looks good. Sorry to say that my experience with Carl has not gone as well. I ordered my CF hood back in May and it still has not arrived. I agree that he is responsive and seems to be a nice guy, but he has made a complete mess of my order and I am less than pleased. I paid for shipping and it seems he went with the cheapest and most stupid shipper (Turkish) in existence. I was suppose to have my hood at end of June, then became July and now we are here end of August. I have given him until the 15th of this upcoming month to deliver the goods or I will be demanding my $ back. I know other have had good experiences with Carl, but in my case I would not most likely buy from him again.

Seems that your hood got expedited quickly and that is great. The fact remains that I pre-paid shipping and the selection of FF and shipping company was Carl's and he has for the lack of words screwed the pooch here. There is no way that a hood should take 2 months to get from HK/China to Europe and it still remains undelivered. Remember the order was placed at end of May. Even if it took 30 days to make hood (which i highly doubt based on your experience) then it is still 60 days since the hood has been completed and shipped. I am not into slamming companies, but at this point in time my tolerence has been tried enough. At the end of the day it is Carl and Stone Carbon responsability to deliver the goods it has sold (prepaid with shipping fees) to the buyer and this simply has not happened. To be honest, I seriously question whether the hood will ever arrive. Buyer beware!

sorry for your shipping arrangement Dave...i know from the start you have been very understandable and supportive, and clearly the shipping company Carl used had **** this up by using Turkish forwarder. i m 100% stand next to ya, and you deserve to ask for a refund...

Appreciate the support from you and others. I like Carl as he seems like a good guy and I understand that there are f-ups in shipping sometimes, but this is way beyond the norm. I will say that Carl has been proactive at all times and very helpful, but there has been zero movement on getting the hood here. I hope this will get resolved soon, but I have lost faith that i will see the hood anytime soon. The key thing for me was to have this installed during the summer (as I will use the OEM hood during the winter) but that will simply not be now.
