X Pipe, Magnaflow sounds.

Anyone has Magnaflow X put in place of 2nd Cat? I listened to some of GT Pro single X videos. X-pipe sounds awesome and makes exhaust note to higher pitch. It helps the tone toward little to an exotic than muscle car. Would Magnaflow X sound comparable? Thanks for sharing.

There was a post out there stating Magnaflow was a tight fit and was using a cheaper metal. It was a vendor that posted this if I remember correctly and he stated it achieved the desired result for an X pipe but did not comment on the sound.
I just refuse to pay $700 for a small piece of bent pipes

Actually the guy who used the Magnaflow reported a loss in power from what I remember as well as not sounding very good.

Our Single X is $649.00 BTW, and is far from a few bent pipes, it is not easy to build them, it is actually quite a complex piece to build correctly, it uses a few compound bends, everything is mandrel bent, and all measurements are exact (see photo of our new 3D pipe modeling process) coupled with a difficult mating flange compression joint and a lot of labor intensive TIG welding on expensive USA Stainless Steel, I just refuse to have them made in China... I understand you not wanting to pay this type of money, not a problem, I can understand your concern, and wanting to save a few $$, nothing wrong with that. There are other companies out there however that get PREMIUM for their items that are priced FAR higher than mine in terms of cost/profit ratio.

Sorry forgot the picture of the process. Here is the process being used on our newest product release the MCD-C631 downpipes.

Brian,

It sounds like your exhaust components are top notch. Does this x-pipe bolt right up to stock system or does the stock system need to be cut and your part welded in?

Does the x-pipe affect the AFR if nothing else on the exhaust side is changed and the rest of the car is stock? If so, would it make the car run more rich or lean?

Does installation of this part cause ANY drone. Is the factory sound maintained, just made louder?

Thank you for taking the time to read my questions.

I gained about 6rwhp at the peak, don't know about the rest of the curve. Of note, I also changed to heavier 19s and removed charcoals as well so it might have been a few more, but a gain nonetheless.

What did you install? X-pipe or Brian's new DP?
