New C63: Where can I go to stretch out?
I've always wanted an excessively fast car and finally pulled the trigger a few weeks ago on a steel grey C63 when MB was offering huge kickbacks on the 2010s. So far, it's been a lot of fun around town but now looking for a local place to stretch out... maybe see what this animal can really do. Any recommendations on clubs, tracks, etc. in my area? I live in Charlotte, NC and you'd think there'd be plenty of tracks around here but all private.

Hopefully this is a serious question. The reference is to my beater- a 2006 E350 with the optional AMG Sport package. The package added some additional body work, suspension tweak, dual AMG exhaust tips, and 18-inch AMG five-spoke wheels. No AMG motor or AMG body badges, but with Sport designation on each side of the car and on the shifter. At the time dual pipes were not standard items on the E350/550s. Still a great looking car.

Thanks. I'm familiar with VIR... the in-laws live in Danville, VA. It's a private club - aside from becoming a member, I'll need to partner with another enthusiast club when they rent the track. I was surprised to see there are no MB clubs on the rental schedule - lots of Porsche, BMW, Mustang, Corvette etc. but no AMG or MB clubs. As for the driving academy, yeah - its already on my Christmas list.
I've done a little more local searching and found Charlotte Motor Speedway has some "Open Test and Tune" days at their dragway. I may check this out.

I have an E350 w/ the AMG sport package. I never ever claim or list it as an AMG because listing/badging regular Mercs as "AMG"s screams to the world that one is a complete Douche Canoe.

Guys he has it listed as E350 AMG Sport. Its not like he is driving around with a AMG badge on claming its a AMG and saying he owns a E Class AMG and hanging around the W211 fourm saying he owns a E55 when he has a E350. My E320 has the AMG Sport package as well. I say its a E320 with AMG sport package. Nothing wrong in that at all.
