Exhaust options on AMG

Hello AMG and non-AMG owners,

Thought i start a thread here since many individuals tend to modify their AMG or non-AMG C-class. In addition, the SLK AMG forum is pretty much dead lol. Sometimes i wish i got the C63 rather than the SLK55 after browsing the C63 threads.

Wanted your opinions on exhaust options for my SLK55 AMG. Was considering either going with SuperSprint muffler + SuperSprint X-pipe or simply have Evosport modify the current AMG stock exhaust. To my understanding, they're both relatively the same price. And the purpose of the exhaust is to make it louder even at lower RPM. I can always go with the cheaper route and simply remove the resonator and or replace it with just the SuperSprint X-pipe and keep the stock AMG mufflers. Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas!

As i recently posted at another thread i had the entire AMG system removed and installed a complete supersprint system. I can definitely recommend it. Awesome sound at all RPM's, especially the low ones.

It's not much of a post but if you message me or just ask questions here about it i'm more than happy to answer. Power gain on the ML with headers and everything was 52 hp if i remember correctly. I don't know the difference between bhp and bps etc. Maybe should wiki it some time...
Anyhow, feel free to ask any questions about it. I drove down from Finland (northern europe) to northern italy and hit it installed at their factory. Great trip Gotta love German highways and Italian traffic...

None fast enough!
FYI, you cannot improve on the performance of AMG mufflers. You can definitely get better or different sound, but you will not gain anything.

To the OP, if we can help, let me know!

thanks
Brad

We have just finished development for our SLK55 bolt-in rear muffler section. In fact after I finish my morning coffee at home, I'm headed to take the car for a test drive. Like Brad said there really is no way to gain any horsepower from a muffler job. However you can alter the sound.

The SLK55 is a prone to drone. In fact its the same with its big brother the SL55. after a boat load of testing out rear exhaust sections, we think we have got a good solution. I'll know more this morning, If we've got a winner. We've been at the drawing board 4 times with the SLK55 so hopefully the 5th is a charm.
