painted side reflector ; Glowing yellow light

Ok, so I've just installed painted (Iridium Silver) side reflectors and like many said, the yellow light is glowing around edges.

I've searched for reflectors and bulbs, and notice that some ppl use electrical tape, painting or zipping? but still can't find clear winner to let this light disappear. Anyone actually used any of this method and had successfully got rid of glowing light please let me know how you did. TIA.

Can't you just removed the bulb? That's what I did on my Lexus, and no warning light on my dash... not sure about the benz though.

Did you paint the inner edges of the reflectors? I sugest you paint the that area with black paint then top coat with silver this solved it for me. If you still experience bleed thru then you can also paint your bulbs just use heat resistant paint (for the bulbs) to be sure

Good luck

hmm why dont you just stick a resistor on in place of the light?
Let me go find the replacements i have and test them to see the ohm needed.

UPDATE: ok so why cant you just put in a simple 25cent 5w 4ohm resistor in it's place?

I am sure we could get away with larger or lower values but the bulbs seems to test 4 ohm at 5 watt.
The ECU might only look for the watt or ohm part not sure if it needs both.
The holders should hold up well to folding the steel ends of a resistor over in a loop and plugging them in.
They should not pop out even under the G's we put on them.
If anyone has some spare resistor lying around please test for us.
I am digging around myself.

The colors we after is "Black Yellow Black Gold"

those with electronics degree please chirp in here.

I painted mine with high temp spray paint (available at ANY auto parts store). Worked perfectly. Don't just take the bulbs out.
