Should I take this offer? 15K off, no trade
Hi guys, while searching for E90 M3, I have stumbled upon a 2010 C63 that almost blew my mind. I offered 15K off the MSRP, and the dealer was willing to take my price with little to no negotiation. The car is sticker in the high 70s with the following options.

What do you guys think of this car? Is this a decent deal?
Thanks for your help

I think the car has roughly 150 miles from the test drives. I am a little concerned about the spirited test drives for these cars but at least I have 4 year warranty to cover those. I also believe in the "drive-it-like-you-stole-it" break-in method over the traditional

badu,
I think this a good deal, I believe in "if you snooze you lose" concept.
So go get the dam thing, and stop procrastinating.

I understand that concern, but there was probably a salesperson in the car on all test drives. I got mine with a few miles on it too and have had no problems. I also drove it hard as soon as I got it.

Any ideas; dates, location and time. I would like to do something before it starts getting really cold. But someplace that isn't far for everyone, neutral ground so to speak. Where we could exchange ideas, number and emails. This isn't about trying to race other members, and get arrested just a simple meet and greet.

2011 C63 P31
I think I came across this car when I was searching for deals on a 2010 C63. Since this car has been punched out, I'd ask for at least 16k off if not more. Also, don't pay for the almost $2k in options that the dealer installed on it aftermarket (parking sensor and rear only tint). They wanted $995 for the tint alone!

vmx128: Yes, I think we are talking about the exact same car. I also felt that the additional aftermarket "depreciates" the car instead of adding value, so I asked to not pay for those. What was your take on the car? Did you end up getting your car somewhere else?
Question: If the car has been "punched out", do I still pay for gas guzzler tax???

I didn't want to spend too much on the car, so I ended up getting mine from Fresno. Paid $52.5k (MSRP was $69.5k). The whole point of buying a 2010 for me was to save money, so I am pretty happy with my purchase.
Here is another way of looking at it: You are really not getting $15k off on that car unless you wanted each and every option it comes with. I really don't care for carbon fiber trim ($2.55k) and teleaid ($650), so the $15k discount dwindles down to $11.8k. Add the unwanted aftermarket options, 150 miles of "spirited driving", 3 months less warranty, previous model year and the fact that the car has probably been sitting in the lot for a good 8-10 months, the $11.8k discount may not be enough to justify this deal. And if you didn't want the P30 performance package, you are looking at an effective discount of $7.8k over a 2011 (at MSRP) that you could get with exactly the options you wanted. Dealers are already willing to go invoice or thereabouts on 2011's, so you may actually get a better overall deal on a new 2011.

Hi Vmx, thanks for your help again.
Do you mind sharing what your options are? The only option that I absolutely want is P30/P31 depending on the production dates. AMG leather and Navi are also nice too so I don't mind having those. If you have p30, do you find the ride too harsh for everyday driving?

Yes, The car is still new even though it has been "punched out", so you will have to pay the gas guzzler tax (included in MSRP).

Agreed! I'd go for AT LEAST 16k off MSRP. Hope you get one and enjoy driving soon.

I test drove a P31 at the AMG driving event a week ago. The ride was a bit harsher than my C63, but nothing you couldn't live with on smooth roads. If you live in an area with bad roads, I would steer away from the harsher suspensions. Regular C63s are stiff enough!
The one negative thing about the P31 is that the LSD is now a $2k option. So LSD+P31 is $8k vs. the $4k for P30, which includes LSD. The P31 has engine and ECU upgrades, so it may be worth it to some.
In the end, everything boils down to how much you are willing to pay for the car and whether you like to save money or not. There are guys who have paid $80k for their C63s and are happy with their purchase. I like to find deals on pretty much everything I buy, so I couldn't be happier with the $17k off I got (plus saved another $1700 in CA taxes thanks to the discount!).
Remember one thing, the ONLY reason to buy a 2010 now is to save money. If you can't get a spectacular deal on a 2010, you should start shopping for 2011s. $15k off on the car you mentioned above sounds like a good deal on the surface, but I feel the dealer can do better. With the $10k trunk money they got from MB, they have a $19k margin on a $70K MSRP car, and more on the $78k MSRP car we are looking at. 2010s have already seen one model year worth of depreciation as 2011s are showing up at dealers everywhere, so you also need to factor that in. And we all know how hard these AMGs depreciate!

I say go for it! I will be going to the NoVA area later but I got mine in CA... My C63 has a MSRP of $79K and I only got $11.5 off + over 9% sale tax in CA!! $15k off with only 3% tax in VA is a very good deal in my book. Just tell the guy you want $15.5k off and you should get the deal. Have fun.

If most testers don't go over 5k rpm, you're good. They actually were sealing your piston rings for you, essentially breaking it in so you won't get combustion leakage, etc.

The M3 is a slightly sharper drive but the C63 has more power and is arguably a better dd, I'd jump on it at that price.

With all the vehicles that you have owned, this should be a no branier. I think that your getting a great deal. Buy the dam thing, and be done with it.
