I'm thoroughly amazed at how this thread became 5 pages long so quickly.

I think I know what dealer he is talking about since I work at one of the BS dealers in Socal and a few other piece of info stated in this thread however I think you are going a little too far LZH. I don't agree with what he is doing simply because if someone crashes into him I doubt their insurance policy could cover that vehicle and I only say this because I would hate to see anyone in that situation. Just drop it it's not worth your effort/time just to get back at him over a little argument especially when it gets ones real life involved.

LZH this is a very unbiased statement, as I know nothing of you or AMG but I do know a little about people trying to overtake fidel castro, and my friend your pretty close

the GM or shop foreman...hmm... so what your saying is that if either one of those people approved it its all good? who are they to say who gets to drive that car? if you wanted to put any sort of sense behind your statement you should of said the only person with such decision to drive the car is someone who can prove they can afford it and has a real interest in purchasing this beast. If you knew anything about dealerships like you say you do, you would know shop foreman and GMs are worst than regular "mechanics", they are most dicks who think they can get away with everything .

I have to say your just trying to keep this argument going.

The dealer I bought all my MB's from offered me a test drive right when the SL65 BS came out since they had two of them on the floor. Naturally, I declined. First of all, they didn't offer me a test drive just to have a good time. It's a business after all, and the objective is to make money, which I understand and respect. They offered it to me in hopes that I trade in my CLK63 BS and actually buy one.

I wasn't born into money and had to figure out a way if I wanted something, which meant working harder and being smarter than the next guy. There are no short cuts, at least no legal ones that I know of. If your dream is to drive a car like that, work a little harder to make that dream come true. Walk in there and write a check for it and I guarantee that you'll have a different view of the subject matter.
after all this thread has taught us one thing, we all have the right to our own opinion.. here's mine..

that is the stupidest statement Ive possibly read here in a WHILE. Buddy, cars arent perfect, not a toyota not a benz, many vehicles come with factory problems and sometimes a test drive will help uncover that. How arrogant bro, till the day I die I will be smart enough to test drive ANY car I buy, if I test drive a toyota u better damn believe ill test drive a $100k+ car.

My $0.02

I do not know what dealerships you worked for or why you would come to this conclusion, but this statement is not true. The shop foremans keep the regular mechanics in check and watch over them so they do not do anything stupid with these vehicles it's part of the reason they are there in the first place and they also take the most care of the cars and have the least amount of incidents this is why they became foreman in the first place. Also them being arrogant and or dicks is just a generalization on your part.

Really? My friend is a master tech at a local mb dealership (has been working there maybe 2 years, 4 years total as a tech) and is only one of the two mechanics that can take any black series cars for the PPI. He did a PPI on a sl65 black series when they first came out...the owner didn't even pick his car up...his assistant did.

I never said it wasnt, I was generally speaking. Not everyone in the world acts the same, some care more for their jobs then others. The GM at my dealership [Toyota of Hollywood] is a great guy, doesnt give three ****s about driving a car here cuz he drives a mazzerati. I was reffering to high end vehicles, like at the collection. GM's there get what they call a DEMO, they get to pick out any car and take it home, as long as theyd like. You think their driving like our grandmas? perhaps

again, LZH does an amazing job of displaying his level of intellegence or should I say lack of, along with a lackluster come back... when did I say I was a salesman? U sure like to assume. And if I was, what does being a toyota salesman have to do with anything I said? several questions I asked which you obviously have no answer for, again a display of no intelligence and ignorance by trying to hide behind your insults.

I am too stupid to insult? I take an IQ test is not your cup of tea. OH wait, u must have a brain for that, true.

First of all, you work at a Toyota dealership. Your position there is inconsequential however it goes without saying that it's not a very prestigious dealership...What, did your local MB dealer require a college degree ?? LOL It’s pretty funny you mention my “intelligence” above and you can’t even SPELL IT !!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!

And which questions did I not answer??? These:

Well that really wasn't a question but more of a moronic statement likening my participation here to trying to overthrow Castro - LOL!!!!!! Yeah, that's a pretty accurate analogy

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. If the GM or shop foreman is authorized to drive the SL BS, and they want to let someone take a joyride in it, then that's cool because they are authorized to make that decision. What's NOT ok is some mechanic or salesman who has NO AUTHORIZATION BY THE DEALER to drive the car, giving family members joyrides. Again....if you can't figure that out and make the same distinction for yourself then I fell sorry for you...but, since it's obvious you can't, I think it's fair to assume that's the reason why you work where you do.

LOL - funny you mention IQ tests and you can't even differentiate between "worse" and "worst". And as JONMBZ (who works at a MB dealer) pointed out, your generalization of all GM's and shop foremen being "dicks" is categorically incorrect and assumptive. And I think it goes without saying that someone who can afford an SL BS is entitled t a test drive...so long as they are interested in purchasing the car...But thanks for pointing out the obvious, Sherlock

No, my involvement at this point is simply to expose retards like yourself and you made that pretty easy for me..so thanks And I'm not sure what there is to argue about with you since your IQ is barely breaking room temperature.

This pretty much sums it up - leg under car while it's being held up by a tiny jack on the side of the street...yeah, very safe, and VERY smart !!!

again, relying on small discrepancies like mispelling of a word to make your argument when its obvious I spelled it correctly the second time in that same statement.
what does the prestigious level of a dealership have to do with the opinion of someone?
Its obvious if a kindergarten degree was needed to be a part of this forum you would still be pleading for a username.

every post of yours simply discovers one more level of your stupidity and ignorance.

Well that really wasn't a question but more of a moronic statement likening my participation here to trying to overthrow Castro - LOL!!!!!! Yeah, that's a pretty accurate analogy
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN lets give some props to LZH, he was able to figure out that wasnt a question on his own!!!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Lets recap this moronic statement...

cuz his brother on YOUR assumptions is a mechanic its not ok?, were he a GM u wouldnt mind ? lol
your whole argument from the beginning was that "AMG" would be out of line by JOYRIDING a car that should be practically 0 miles for its owner but its an ok JOYRIDE as long as the GM approves it ?
this isnt about having respect for the car for you, its about HATING on AMG cuz u cant enjoy what he is probably doing as I write this.

AGAIN, relying on small discrepancies like mispelling of a word to make your argument seems like all you know how to do.

you must like that word, isnt it your first name?

No, my involvement at this point is simply to expose retards like yourself and you made that pretty easy for me..so thanks And I'm not sure what there is to argue about with you since your IQ is barely breaking room temperature.
My IQ, even barely breaking room temperature is still double digits ahead of yours buddy.

Too bad this thread went to s**t in a hurry but that is the province of a few incredibly arrogant types who populate this board to do this. In my very real, personal experience with the sales crew at my dealer I can say that I would have been tossed the keys to their SL65 BS at ANY time had I expressed an interest in driving it, in the off (read miniscule) chance that I might have gotten serious enough to talk to them about it. And the only car I have purchased from them is my C63. These cars have been gathering dust sitting for 18 months in the showroom...anyone who is saving $80k on the car is not going to worry about 100 careful miles that were put on the car. Just to jump into the spirit of name calling, anyone who thinks this can't be done has not established the right relationship with his store...or is a moron. Have fun _AMG_!
