did anyone ever get in contact with the seller? I am actually in china and would prefer to purchase and have it shipped directly to me instead of having it to go to the states and come right back to me... but countless emails and no response...

I'm a little confused on the rear pin install. Do I need to remove the original pin and then do the "two-pop" procedure or does the new AMG pin go on top?

Thanks!

Mine arrived in less than a week. Install took about a minute and a half. Big improvement over the absolutely atricious stockers.

Yes, pull straight up with a little force, they should pop right off.

Are the rears supposed to be recessed into the door when locked?

My set arrived in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday... but customs haven't cleared them... it's been 2 days now so I'm starting to wonder if they are legally approved in Canada since they are AMG knock -off? What if they are not approved... are they going to return them to the sender or toss them in the garbage?

Yeah, I don't think they look right at all. But, there isn't anything strange going on, the fronts are straight screw on/off replacements and the backs you just pop off/on as well.

When compared to stock these metal ones are about 1/2 the length.

The rears are supposed to stick out about 1/4" when locked.

Did you do the two pop procedure?

With the doors unlocked.

1. Push the rear pin down until you hear a pop
2. Lock the doors and push the rear pin down a second time until
you hear another pop, this seats the rear pin.

If the rears on Iatacs19 is that far recessed, does he need the "2nd pop" for the rear? Does anyone else have the same issues as Iatacs19?

Yes, I did exactly as described in your post, but mine are really short for some reason. I do remember reading a thread about having to remove the door panel for proper installation of the rear door pins.

I was told the panels do not need to be removed.

not sure.

He could try one pop and see if that helps.

I did the pop twice method, but it doesn't hook on securely to the stem in the door.

This is the problem with my car:

i got mine today in the mail and walked outside to try the install... not as easy as i thought it was going to be... but i got it done

my installation story...

my fronts when screwed in all the way weren't the same height... i fiddled with it but couldn't get it just right with the AMG pointing the way i wanted... so i had to just adjust one side a little higher by unscrewing it... it barely moves but i can live with it...

the rears were a pain to pop off... i couldn't get a good grip on it and i didn't have much to work with as tools... so i finally ended up grabbing like 5 rubber bands... and wrapped it around the bottle neck of the stock pin... then i used a small towel to grip it and finally got them to pop off... i also used this trick on one of the fronts because it made the initial unscrewing a lot easier, then the rest by hand

now the rears were tricky... it wasn't as easy as explained here for me... i don't know if it's because i have a 2010... but when i put it in the unlocked position and put the new pin on and pushed down, guess what... it just pushes down with little force and locks the door... no pop or nothing... i could pull the pin right off... so it's just sitting on top of the little ball...

after doing this several times to figure out how i'm supposed to get this initial first pop... i almost gave up and planned to just leave it like this... but i wanted to try again...

this time i used the stock rear pins... and i placed the bottom part of the pin on top of the head of the new pins... i then put a towel over the top of the stock pin so i wouldn't hurt my hand when i hammered it in... after a couple of hits, or if that failed i just pushed on it hard with the palm of my hand... when this succeeded it pushed the pin all the way down... so far down to a point when it freaked me out like i lost it... but it basically looked like the pics above... (Post #86))

since it was locked, i unlocked it and the pin came up a bit... i didn't want it to be this low when locked... so i tried to pull on the pin a bit... and it came up slightly and stayed... i tested it by locking and unlocking a few times and it ended up looking like the rears in the pics above (Post #72) this member didn't like it that way, but i liked it better than it being down inside the door practically...

hopes this helps some members out...

so has anybody installed these pins have them not be sunk in completely when locked? Is this how they are suppose to be? I just got mine today, the non AMG chrome pins that was mentioned on the second or third reply. Haven't installed just yet but am excited to do so.

For the fronts, I had to use plumbing thread tape on the threads otherwise it is too loose and I would have to screw them all the way down.

The rears were a PITA. For one, like others have said, it is difficult to pull off. I was unable to seat the rear pins and tried to push them on with the door locked with a plastic pen. Bad idea! The lock mechanism came off it's holder and was dangling inside the door. Now, I had to take the trim panel off and reattach the mechanism. If it doesn't seat, take caution on how much force you exert on the rears. What I finally done is used some black hot glue that is used for PDR and squirted enoough to fill half of the pin and inserted the pin onto the ball stem and it holds prefectly tight and doesn't sink all the way in. Don't bother using the clear ones you buy at craft stores or home improvement stores because the formula is different.

I noticed the "AMG" lettering doesn't really stand out. The OEM ones look like they do, but for $50 shipped, I guess I can't complain too much.

+1!!! Mine are on the way and I want to make sure they don't sink all the way in like one of the pictures I saw. Otherwise I'm not going to install them.
