Service A & B for low mileage car?

Hi everyone, my C63 is my summer & week-end car only... so I only have 2000km on it right now, and expect to drive 5000km/year.

My service manager told me I should still do my service A & B every year... service A is not a big deal, but I wonder if flushing my brake fluid during service B (estimated in 2 years & 10 000km) is useless.

Can I post-poned service A or B to later date until I reach the mileage & only do oil changes every year? Thanks in advance for your help.

Roswell my C63 is 2 years old now and has almost 8,000 miles (12,874.752 KM).

I have done both services and my AMG techs didn't need to flush the fluid yet. They advised it was useless to do so since the car is below mileage. Hope that helps!

Great to hear Merc-Skycap!! I guess I will sit down with them before each service & tell them what needs to be done.

At least your AMG techs are being cool, mine thinks I should flush it no matter the mileage... crazy! It's the same dealer who wanted me to flush my diff fluid.

The concern with brake fluid is getting moisture in the fluid, which is possible regardless of actual miles driven. An inspection should be sufficient to determine whether a brake flush is required. Make sure you do the basic components of the service regardless (oil change).

I had very low mileage on my Viper and just went by the "book" via time instead of mileage.

Exactly. But if you can afford such a vehicle, then a few hundred for a service shouldn't even be a question. It's simply good preventative maintenance

Same here. I hit 2200 miles during the first year and time came before distance on the oil change. I'm currently at 2400.

I'm not being cheap, I actually did my first oil change at 1000km as recommended by the dealership. And I will do my service as soon as my computer tells me to do it... oil change is very important once a year, but i'm having doubt about flushing fluids here & there at 5 000km or 10 000km.

I was just at my dealer today for ticking noise from my engine and the car's coolant leaking and brought up your question and was told that the most you'd need is more fluid if the level is low but other than that it's recommended but not necessary if the car has low miles.

However, if it helps you sleep better at night, you can flush it out. I would assume that LSD fluid is higher priority in this case.

This is what MB recommends:

MB 2010 Service Booklet, P. 21 Maintenance Service descriptions.

Service 4 - at every 2 years

Replace brake fluid (all models)

Totally agree....

Plus fluids degrade over time no matter how many miles driven

On a side note i dropped off my car yesterday for a Service B and they gave me a C300 as a loaner for the day.....you dont really get to appreciate how much our 63's have packed into them until you drive a regular C.....

Did the same thing about a month ago. The C63 is so very different than the "regular" C that I could not believe it.......

also it depends on how you drive it, if you drive gently, its okey to do service according to the schedule, if you have done a lot of track driving, at least change oil every other track days
