yes i agree mercedes ecu log all faults these days even when the fault goes away it still leaves a code in the ecu so you can download and problem shootOriginally Posted by Sonny@Marranos
Thats ridicolous,its easy to log upstream o2 activity and easy to tell if they are functioning correctly,if they cant do that as a merc dealership,they might as well shut shop ,get someone independant that knows how to use a logger and log o2 activity when it chugs & you will know right way which o2 sensor it is.regards sonny

I had a similar experience shortly after putting some fuel in my tank that was close to empty. It chugged like crazy the next morning but as it turned out, it was bad gas. I noticed the return to normal after putting a fresh full tank from another station. Then the chugging disappeared.
The only slight hesitation I can get now is if I try to accelerate hard when the engine is cold at around 3,000rpm+, which is something I shouldn't do but I was in a situation where if I didn't accelerate, there was going to be a spectacular accident.

Thought it was bad gas, drained tank, refilled with another 94octane still chugged.
Went to dealer, no CEL but they were told by AMG to replace cam position sensor. Still chugged.
Removed the brand new BMC air filters and replaced with stock, Chugging 100% GONE. Will retry BMC's on monday after they sit out for a couple days.
Hopefully I either didnt tighten the air boxes enough, or the filters were too oily. If not I just wasted $200 on air filters.
Or is there such a thing as too high of air flow? and something needs to be recalibrated for higher flow filters?

I'm not sure about our Benz, but on my Lexus I had to reset the ecu after changing my intake & filter.Originally Posted by blackc230benzo

I put the stock paper filters back in and the chugging is gone, then re-installed the bmc's and disconnected battery terminals and chugging was still there.
Then put in 1 paper and one BMC and the chugging came back with a CEL code p010B and p101 mass air flow issues, swapped filters to see if it was a certain MAF sensor but same code, same chug.
Might just give up and go back to stock papers, I would just like to know why it is happening with the high flow filters.
-I know there is another thread of mine with this issue, it was opened more recently with more focus on the filters.
