Good Afternoon,
Dad's Performance LLC is up and running. We will offer specialty items for the C63 like this hood. I have been a part of designing and producing specialty items like this for over 20 years. However, I have always been in the background with a younger family to take care of. Since there was interest in this hood and some other parts I decided it was time to start Dad's Performance LLC. My two sons are 21 and 19, old enough to help and run the company.

I will have them all made as you prefer(either FRP or C/F) and shipped as one bulk shipment to the USA(Florida) packaged individually so I can in turn ship them to you from here. All you will have on top of these prices is the freight from Florida to where ever you are in the USA. If you are located outside the USA I can talk to them and have them ship it directly to you. Once again, you will be responsible for the freight from the factory in China.

FRP (for painting) = $970
Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) (also fibre-reinforced polymer) is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually fibreglass, carbon, or aramid, while the polymer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic. FRPs are commonly used in the aerospace, automotive, marine, and construction industries.
- OR -
Carbon Fiber = $1590

Please let me know if you are interested. I plan to order 10 in order to do this. I will need a 50% deposit from you prior to manufacturing. I can take paypal or a check(the check will need to clear) for the deposit.

When/if we get 10 people to commit I will ship my hood to them for replication. They said it will take 2-3 weeks to make the mold and then 4-5 weeks to produce them. Then its 3-4 weeks for sea freight from them to me. I am sure we can work out air freight with them if you decide you want it sooner. I was just trying to save everyone in the USA freight costs.

Glad you all liked them and let me know if you are interested. If we get 10 confirmations quickly we can have them by Christmas if you want to pay air.

Christmas Special - 10% discount on the above prices for this original order!!

Sorry if this has been answered else where, I didn't see it.... how do you address the water issue during heavy rain or even just a car wash? Won't the water get into the engine compartment at multiple places now?

Nothing is worse than buying a new product only for someone to come out with a better product right after you done your purchase and install. Now what to do...buy another vented hood?....K you are killing me! My wife will think I have completely lost my marbles if I have three hoods for a single car. Interested...let me get back to you. D

Water gets everywhere no matter what, doesn't appear to be a problem for cars like vipers with much larger vents.

Tomorrow I will take a picture where the louvers/vents are placed under the hood. We purposely placed them above areas where there are NO electronics. Been through the car wash already and no issues. They are placed right above the two plastic intake tracts to let the hot air out. The rear two are placed above the rear of the intake manifold to let the hot air vent out in place of venting past the black plastic intake tube and down out the tunnel. Thus allowing the heat out where it needs to escape. More pictures tomorrow. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Keith

Just in case anyone is interested in this hood but a little uncertain about sending money to a "start up" company I will share my experience with Keith. Just after he installed his MHP headers I was thinking of doing the same but kept coming up with reasons not to. One afternoon he asked me to come by his office and I found a set of headers waiting for me there. He told me that if I liked them then pay him back whenever. Bear in mind that I had only known Keith about 8 months but that is the kind of man he is. Keith is putting this together simply to allow others a unique opportunity and you have nothing to fear regarding a deposit should the order not come to fruition.

+100 of Keith's integrity.
I'd definitely vouch for him (and he didn't even buy me Headers).
Good luck, Keith.
The hood looks amazing and please let me know if you come up with anything that is cross-platform for my car.

Oh Dave,
Take the plunge and be a man. LOL
You will need a hood for your other C63 DTC!!
At this point I'll have three hoods.

Thanks for the kind words.

Pretty sure these are going to be a limited production item. First 10 only. Factory hood is bring shipped this week for molding. Can't wait to see the finished product. Looks like there is 5 or do signed up, if you've ever wanted a cf hood, thus is the one to have. The amount of heat it pulls from the engine bay is remarkable.

What's the expected weight savings, and do you need different struts for the lighter hood? Looks great....
