Painted Brake Calipers - Suggestions Needed!
I got bored of the grey calipers and want to paint these in a color which would stand out more.
I thought about these:
- Lime green
- Orange
- Red
I fell in love with the grey E55 with lime green calipers
On the other hand, I'm not sure if red won't make me look as wanna-be-P31. However in January I'm going to order the EvoSport lightweght rotors...
Any suggestions? I would apprecaite pictures - easier to visualize
Just to remind you, this is my car:

go with orange....it suits your exterior paint and also thats the colour on the sls brake caliper.

I actually think the yellow/orange color looks pretty good. Another suggestion that might look good on our cars is that sort of matte bronze color, or even a polished satin silver look...like you see on the race cars.

that lime green is too light to notice, maybe a little tad darker will just do it. but whatever floats your boat. the good thing is, if you don't like the colour you can always change it to another.

This is actually not a bad idea thanks
What about this? Dark red looks bada$$!
After seeing this pic I decided to repaint my summer rims in gloss black. Got bored of the matte look.

I like the orange over the lime green... If you had aftermarket wheels I would say lime green most likely.

hey man.. them orange brakes look pretty good actually.. hmm.. maybe.. just maybe a possible color update on mine? thanks for sharing this thread..
thing about red is that it looks pretty common nowadays. not to take anything away from the P31's but the red brakes normally indicate a top notch braking system back in the days.. presently there are plenty of high performance brakes..
good performance from the evosport rotors?
anyways.. back to the topic, i loike the orange!!!

Yeah, red seems a bit overplayed but the dark red calipers behind gloss black multispokes do look good. I like the color more than the P31 red.
I don't know a lot about the performance of the Evosport rotors - just read many positives on on the forum. After 110'000km with my rotors, the time has come to change them Another plus is the price - $999 is a bargain.
I also like the orange...
I think the only solution for me is to take some pics of my car and play with them in photoshop.
Thanks for the heads up. How long does it take to get the EvoSport rotors?

None fast enough!
Here is an R63 we did with lambo metallic orange:
We are always on back order with rotors, good and bad. They are selling so well, it is hard to keep up with production. We are ramping up to resolve that issue.
Best to get an order in when you know you want them.
Thanks
Brad

You really do not want to powdercoat brake calipers. Brake fluid will eat the powdercoating and the heat of the process will melt the internal seals (so you have to re-build them after the coating if you go that way)

So how should you paint them? What is the best method?
Thank you Brad for the pictures and info on the rotors. Nice of you to chime in I will order the rotors when I'll get my H&R springs. I want to install everything at once.

Usually, you tear the caliper apart so that you are only cooking the housing, not the pistons or seals. Once that's done, steel braided brake lines and then carefully bleed your brakes, and you should not have to worry.
I do like the green.. I will stand by it :P luminous glow in the dark green would be pretty slick

This looks like a Monster Energy CLS
Thanks for the pics - now I know I dont want to have lime green calipers. They look better with grey paint. Dont like the combo with black.
Ok guys, I played around in Photoshop with the pics I got from Brad
The choice is now between ORANGE and DARK RED
RED
ORANGE
LIME GREEN
