C63 vs. sportbike...

Anybody have the nerve to run a 600,750 or liter bike w their C63's? From the dig,or a roll doesnt matter...Just curious to hear your stories to see how the AMG faired

yeah a 1000 is pretty much untouchable,a 600 would prolly be much closer unless the rider is a squid lol

I used to have a GSX-600... short of the C63 being heavily modified, you won't be able to touch it...

Basic internet search shows the below.
1/4-mile: 10.39 sec. @ 135.0 mph
0-60 mph: 3.06 sec.
0-100 mph: 6.17 sec

That's straight up stock, the gixxer has a bit more power then the CBR 600RR (although that handles slightly better in the twisties). The Kawasaki ZX6R has the most power of the 3, and will go faster in a straight line..

I have an 02' GSXR1000 with 158RW hp. The C63 isn't even remotely close.

I've raced several 600cc bikes on the top end. They lose out once you start going really fast.
From a dig no chance
Over 600cc, no chance

If you run the older 600's in stock form you will win, by older I mean 90's and down.

I ran my stock 2006 GSX-R600 against a friend's stock C6Z06 and I would pull out slightly from a 60 roll, but had to break early due to traffic.

You'd need to do a roll on from very high speed (140ish) to have a chance against any modern 600, at that speed aero comes into the equation plus nerves both are advantages of your car (though lets be going closed course). Below that speed, you get w a l k e d. And don't even think about liter bikes....

You're kidding right? By today's performance car standards our C63s are relatively fast but nowhere near the top of the food chain (i.e. 997 Turbo S/GT2, Z06/ZR1, Ferrari 458/599, Lambo 640/670, etc.). A serious modern sportbike is in a totally different league. Just check some modern road test results for 1/4 mile and 0-100 times. Not even remotely close. OK, maybe after 140+mph where the aero drag kills the bike you might keep up, but that's rather academic since you aren't going to ever see that happen in real life. You might as well be racing a sidewinder missile for how close you will keep it. If you're gonna race bikes I'd stick to Honda GoldWings, Harleys, and old CB 750 cafe racers.

+1, had a ZX-12, nothing short of an SR-71 was staying with me to about 140!! Nothing!! (cept another liter bike) Most current litre bikes with a good rider are in the 9s in the qtr mile at about 150-160 MPH (stock)

nah the 600cc bikes nowadays are around 120hp. I've raced quite a few newer bikes including the CBR 600 RR and yamaha r6. They aren't all that from 80mph -> ...

as i said > 600cc or < 30mph roll, you have no chance in stock C63. A switzer GTR though, that will eat up everything.

I just got done racing a 600cbr,

We raced from 60 to about 140.

he pulled ahead until 80 where he was about 2 car lengths ahead.

i started reeling him in after 80, caught up to him at like 100-110, then passed him up really bad, like he hit a brick wall or something at aroudn 120, i was bus lengths ahead by 140.

He said he was going all out too, so rider was pretty decent, a good friend of mine.

Depending on the year. A early 2000's liter performance is simlar to a newer 600's performace.

Only way a C would have a chance is from a higher roll, and it would have to be a 600, or older 1000. And the 600 would have to be around 06-07, the new ones just get faster and faster.

Oh yeah, The C would need atleast a tune and headers.

Anyone with some brains should not in any way attempt to keep up with a bike in a C63...

Nah,'00 liter-bikes were easily putting down 135-145rwhp stock, todays 600's are not close to 135rwhp stock or piped for that matter..an older 1000 would run away from any modded C63,at any speed without blinking an eye

agreed. newer 600cc bikes are definitely not 135rwhp.

No actually this is not true. If it's not bigger than 600cc, then it's a good race from a highway roll.

Rumor has it, that there will be a couple bikes at the 11/20 MIR rental, if anyone is feeling froggy.

I used to race bikes when I was a bit younger. I had a 1987 Honda Hurricane 600cc, when they were the "IT" bike to have. Best I ran that little f@cker, was to an 11.87 at MIR years ago. The bike was mildly modded. It had a Kerker slip-on, and I think had some holes drilled in the airbox or some crap. Hell it was 20 years ago, since I was racing bikes.

No stock C63 is running 11.8x, that I know of.

That vid is a joke, what Busa rider in their right mind shows up to a streetrace with a stock-height bike? So,right there that points out that the rider:
A)-has never drag raced before
B)-underestimated his opponent
C)-was not a serious run since he didnt 60' that Gen2 Busa for cr*ap
D)-all of the above

An otherwise stock Gen2 Busa w full exhaust, tune&stock gearing w a skilled rider has gone 202mph at Maxton Mile. The FASTEST GTR to date at a standing mile has only gone 205mph. So what does that mean? A highly modded GTR eeks out 3mph more than a otherwise stock Busa. How bout a modded Busa? Forget it lol!!

B-O-R,that pic brings back fond memories of my wild drug induced youth in the 80s! I had a '85 Honda VF500 Interceptor when I was a junior in H.S. and thought it was the baddest around...until the damn Hurricane came out in '87. My meager 500 got soundly thrashed by that CBR,so I bought a new '87 GSXR-750 w my graduation money later that year

And I would NEVER think of running a 1k w my slow E63 lol!

BTW,that pipe looks like an old Yosh not Kerker?

Yep, good eye. That is a Yoshimura pipe. It's just an internet photo that I found. Looks like the owner of this one, pulled all of the Hurricane stickers off of it and changed the paint scheme a bit too.

Digital cameras didn't exist when I had that bike. I've got a great polaroid of it.

Seriously, I do.

Little bit of useless knowledge:

As you know, Honda's real name for the Hurricane was the CBR600F. After the release of the Hurricane, they were forced to go back to the CBR name, and drop the Hurricane moniker, for insurance reasons. Hurricanes were blacklisted by many insurance companies.

This is exactly what mine looked like:
