Not to say I am not impressed but this is just a rendering done in photoshop. From looking at the body, fenders, and especially the wheels (which are not C63 multispokes but the CLK63 BS multispokes) I would say it's based ona a CLK63 Black Series.

Just like the CTSV coupe its fugly! I bought my C63 because its a 4 door. If I wanted a fast 2 door there are MANY other options. It wont devalue the 4 doors at all. It will however sell pretty well. I wonder if they will do an AMG version of it. C63 2 door? Hmmmmm... How much weight loss going to a 2 door? 300lbs? Maybe more....
A 3500lb C63 2 door...... meh... id still buy the Vette....

I highly doubt the deletion of 2 doors will net you a 300lbs weight loss. The 2 remaining doors will have to be increased in size with the increase sheet metal for where the rear doors used to be. I'm thinking more along the lines of a 100lbs weight loss.

2010 Irridium Silver MB C63 AMG Sedan
I think it's all about the rear fenders!!!! Son of a motherless goat those are excatly what they should have done with the C63!!!!! The BS owners have been loving every minute of it knowing that we C63 owners got short changed on the rear fenders!!!!! Girth does matter!!!!

C63
While likely some sort of photoshop it does look promising...I'll wait until the real pics come out. I almost hope it's not that nice so I can save myself a boatload of cash!

'09 C63 AMG
I also read in another car mag that MB had scrapped plans for a C63 AMG Coupe though, and they were only going to release the Coupe in non-AMG versions for now.

I didn't think there was much weight savings in sedan vs coupe although you'd imagine a coupe is lighter b/c of 2 less doors....
If you've ever looked inside or had to swing shut a coupes door as compared to a sedan, you'd realize how much more steel and weight and reinforcement must go into those 2 doors. I'm not sure how much of a benefit weight would be, if anything at all.
I believe the M3 coupe weighs 3704 whereas teh sedan weighs 3726....22 lbs is negligible considering 2 less doors..

I dont see them saving 300lbs with a coupe unless its designed to be a "lightweight" model. And yes, welcome additional devaluation - between coupes, new motors, facelifts, minor tweaks (led fogs, side mirrors, media interface plus, etc) and the normal AMG drop-like-a-rock values...if you are concerned with resale better get out now, it's not going to get any better!

^^ Agreed about the weight, especially in this age of platform/parts sharing...I'd really be surprised if the coupe ended up being more than 50-60lbs lighter with the same wheelbase.

Maybe. I guess thats why they look so fugly. They are pretty much just taking a 4 door and making it a 2 door without changing the frame.
Looking at the CTSV it looks like is only about 75lbs lighter going to the Coupe from the Sedan.

Ths C63 has gain much more recognition in the past few years for its amazing performance over the M class BMW's and other cars in its class. This has slowed its already horrible depreciation a bit. I'm not saying its not going to drop faster than the average car, but it has gotten better.
A dealer bought my 2009 with 12K miles on it for 50K. Put it on its lot for 55K 2 weeks later. Sold it for 54K. Considering I bought the 2009 for 52K I lost 2K in 12K miles.
I bought my 2010 for 54K. If you paid full price for a C63 then yes. Your Fed! Ill agree with that.
I know you want the C63 to bottom out to feel better about your personal purchase decision but its really not as bad as you make it seem. The CTSV coupes didn't see a big drop in resale due to the coupes coming out. The M3 coupes didn't see a big drop of sales when the Sedans came out. Its two complete different optioned cars. Most people in the market for a C63 have families and require the 4 door. Lets face it, after the age of 21, unless you bought the car as a toy, 2 door cars suck.
Im sure it will be fine and no need to get Henny Penny over it.
