Lightbulb Akrapovic Slip-On + Longtube Headers Pics/Vid - ACG San Diego

Here is one of our ongoing C63 projects. I am sure many of you have been waiting to hear the Akrapovic Slip-On with some longtube headers. I must say that with all the resonators in place, it souds just right. It is loud, has a lot of bass and very it is very reasonable at cruising speeds. Comparing to this setup, the longtubes with a stock exhaust sounds like a chopper. The video does not quite project the "body" of the sound of this setup. Its like listening to a large church organ on your computer speakers. You'll still get the idea.

Mods:
MBH Full Length Tri-Y Headers
MBH Optional 300cpsi Catalytic Converter
MBH Optional Resonated Connecting Pipes
Stock Midpipe/Resonator
Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust
Powerchip Tune
Quaife LSD
Vorsteriner Rear Diffuser

The Video

The MBH setup looks very nice. Sound is subdued and not as "raw" as the stock rear components. Peter, are you a semi-pro photographer? These pics and the pics of the Akro exhaust you took at SEMA are outstanding.

No numbers yet.

Thanks for the comment on my photos. I just use a Nikon D40X with whatever lens it came with. I just know my settings and angles; otherwise, photography is not really my hobby

Wow that install is clean! Nice job ACG

I wish they made this exhaust for the W211... I love the tips.

The pics, install, and exhaust look awesome! Nice job ACGSD. From the video, the exhaust sound does seem much tamer compared to the AMG mufflers though. Maybe a bit too muffled? Hard to tell without hearing it in person I'm sure. But I do love those square tips, they've really grown on me.

Another thing I noticed, you didn't install the custom cross brace that MBH supplied? Just curious, as I had to remove my stock one as well even with large spacers.

You can ask the people in my parking garage, "subdued" is not a word they would use....big ups to ACG for making me fall in love with my car again...

Sounds great!! Never seen or heard a C63 with the MBH/Akra combo. I would take off the resonators to really wake up the sound more.

Great sounding combo. Just an observation, but from the sound clips I've heard, it seems like the Akra mufflers are quieter than OEM.

nice setup. I wish they made a diffuser to match the exhaust tip.

It is certainly not quiet. I would say that it is as loud or louder as if we were to use a stock exhaust with the same header setup. The reason it seems quieter is because the mufflers eliminate all the rasp.

Wish you guys would open up a shop in Florida . My quaffe is still sitting in the garage cause I haven't found a reasonably priced shop that I am comfortable with and I am not going to spend a grand when you guys do it for about $400

What about the pipe size is it 2.5 like stock or 2.75 or 3 inch? (on the slip-on)

I have a sub-woofer (Monsoon) on my PC and turned it up half way and 3/4 on the video. All I can say is:

OMG - Awesome...

I am still vibrating....LOL

I love the smoother more refined sound. It seems more in keeping with the car. Still loud and it will turn heads!

I guess I like the trademark OEM rasp then.

I do want to really say thank you to James and the ACG crew for making this experience really easy. They kept me informed every relevant step of the way, and made sure everything was perfect before I got my car back. I want to just happily add my list to those satisfied customers who keep coming back to ACG for their knowledge and expertise, honesty and integrity, prices and overall customer service!

Thanks James and Peter!!
