The only way to go is to either spend that small fortune on CF one or vinyl wrap it. Painting is really not worth the hassle as rock chips will make it look real nasty in no time.

Yep plasti-dip is very popular and can be undone. I vinyl wrapped mine using a hair dryer and stuff from metro restyling website. Happy with the result (only wrapped 2 center grills).

Thanks for the quick replies! Yeah i stopped by my local bodyshop today to see if they could paint it and they said they could but said it would get rock chips real fast, although he said he may be able to have another guy he knows powdercoat it which would bake the paint into it so it wouldnt chip as easy. I may just have to go the plasti dip route.

Why is that if u look at your grill u dont see chips in the chrome trim at all?
I previously had a black grill on my Rover and never got any rock chips - I know over time its inevitable, but you would think if u looed at your current grill, youd at least see rock dents/chips despite the chrome color being lighter than the black. Is it the clear coat protecting the grill?

DCT motorsports how much is that grill running? And i dont care for the star or not, i personally think both look equally as good. $1000 is ALOT to cough up for a grill.
