I've been using M/T's 265/40R18 on stock wheels.

I cut a 1.660 60 foot with Nitto 555R's. 285/35/18
They are wider and shorter in diameter then the MT's so I think it might work beter 60 foot. Good luck.

I had the Nittos as described, but I'm going to try the MTs next, based on some recommendations. The nittos were fine..

I run MT drags on my 69' now...I get 1.6's on those... Do the Nittos look good on stock rims?

It seems like the MTs are stickier though also a bit taller. The 285 on the Nittos is deceiving because all their tires run "large" meaning they are small compared next to any other 285. I believe the MT 265s are just as wide actually.

I'm surprised at some of the 60' times on Nittos from guys in this thread, wow.

The Nitto's are wider.

Nitto: 11.22" overall width
M/T's: 10.66" overall width

Shorter too.

nice pics up there ^

You actually have a few choices for 18" Drag Radials.
  • 18" Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials (265/40-18)
  • 18" Nitto NT555R Drag Radials (285/35-18)
  • 18" BFGoodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radials (275/35-18)
  • 18" Hoosier D.O.T. Drag Radials (255/35-18 or 275/35-18) <- not something you can safely use on the street
You can also go with a 17" tire on some dedicated 17" track wheels.
  • 17" Hoosier D.O.T. Drag Radials (275/40-17)

Here are some photos comparing the different tread patterns.

I'm looking at getting a set of drag radials also. I liked the nt555r's but nitto told me they wouldn't fit on my stock 18's. They said I needed a 9.5 inch rim. Did any of you have problems putting the 285's on the stock wheels? Thanks for the help.

I found the best for me is the,,, http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/i.../et_street.jpg

Oh they are better than a drag radial because they are a dot approved drag slick.

From what I saw, people either change them at the track, either they tow the car with them already installed.

HOOISERS are the best ones out of this list. They are not intended for road use. They have a very soft sidewall.

I can dead hook with them at 18psi. I change them out at the track.

hoosier doesnt make either tire in a 18" only 315 and above in an 18 drag radial. when using 17" or smaller rims watch for caliper clearance

They fit on the stock wheels fine. I daily drove/tracked with that setup before I went to my Forgestars.

Hello. Thread revival.

Do you guys have any experience with M&H Racemaster Camber Radial Tyres? I have found a place here in Australia that sells them in 245/40/18 which is what I'm looking for as I cannot find MT ET Street or Nitto 555R in similar size.
I'm looking head to the strip in the coming summer but I feel that the Conti Contact 5P won't cut it.
