I have the illuminated door sills installed in my c63. I got it done at the dealership but they never took out the original amg sill. It kinda looks tacky with two amg side by side. I am thinking about removing the original sill. My question to you guys is this: are the sills glued on or is it installed in a way that if you remove it there is a gap/hole underneath it.

How can you have both parts installed? One is a replacement of the other.

You have have the non-illuminated OR illuminated sils, not AND :S

you are mistaken brother. here are the pics. I have both the illuminated sills and the original. the illuminated sill still have the protective wrapper on.
I really want to take the original out but just not sure if there is a hole underneath it.

when you buy the illuminated sills its supposed to come with a plain silver cover that goes overtop of the lower AMG sill using supplied double sided tape. I would go back to the dealer and ask them for the part cause it really does look better with the plain sill there to cover the AMG one, hopefully they still have them laying around.
I have the illuminated sills ill post a pic tomorrow of the complete install.

That's messed up, and your dealer should NOT have install your door sill like that to begin with.

thanks.. i am very happy with it. Everyone who gets in the car gives me compliments on them. they look badass at night.. I am going to ask the dealership about the extra piece, if not i might just paint the original sill obsidian black and call it a day.
