J/k you're totally fine, just don't do it again or the AMG gods will get mad

Service A is just a glorified oil change is it not?

Edit: and while on the topic of services, mines due for Service B in about 700 miles (ie.. a weeks worth fo driving for me..... *sigh* ).. Is there a site somewhere that breaks down what each of the Services comprises of, what work, what gets flushed, replaced etc etc.

A and B look to be glorified oil changes. Oh wait in B they hook it up to starscan.

You will be fine, you don't want to drive several hundred or several thousand miles with the service display showing. If it ever came to a warranty issue, Mercedes can say well they never changed the oil. And you be lefted out in the cold. Your looking at about $250-300 for a service A depending where your located at. Besides the lights are just reminder lights anyway.

My Service A is passed due by 2400miles but i got a oil change at 10K miles because the Dealership gave me 3 Free oil changes, which they ****ed up when i took it in for the first change. they over filled and on the dipstick it was showing way over the MAX, the entire car was shaking. freaking morons.

It was almost $400 for me at MB of Annapolis.. I ended up taking it to an independent MB shop. Whatever you do, keep the records for whatever shop you choose. I have a maintenance log I keep, in which I record visits to the shop, or self repaired, self inspected, quick lube changed oil, etc etc.

I find it offensive that Service A is so expensive, For B, I might do the checks myself, the oil change, but just take it in to the dealer to get the starscan checks, and whatever command upgrade I can get...

I'm going for A on monday it's $316 after tax but they have a $50 coupon on their web site (it's in that link I posted see if your dealers will honor?). Still getting bent over for a $250 oil change. oh well I really do enjoy the car.

jvanbrecht,

You remind me of myself , I keep a log as well, and receipts of anything I do. I prefer to do all of my own maintenance. I also use the free inspection coupons that, I get from MB of Alexandria, American Service Center and Euromotorcars. The inspection gives me a progress report of service that will be due on the car. If their is something out of my scope of expertise, I will take it to Benz Elite Automotive and have experts work on her.

That's why I prefer to do the maintenance myself, I'm not cheap mind you. I just rather keep the money in my wallet, instead of giving it away on a simple oil change and a inspection all for $300.
