The front on that Supra went to crap upon impact, but the SL's sides appear to be intact. I guess these things are built like tanks.

No, the driver in the video doesn't suck, I want to drive like him. He is Mika Hakkinen, F1 world Champ and drove for Lotus and McLaren Mercedes, what did he care, it was one of those company cars he barely dented. The engine bay and trunk areas are designed to "crump" on impact to dissipate energy and absorb the impact. Almost every vehicle in the last 10 years would probably result in the same damage to the front end on an impact like that.
