So where's melmanc when you need him to tell the OP that a tuned C63 can beat a CTS-V? Or the guy who thinks the CTS-V has inferior brakes because they're not drilled OR slotted!!
Yes the Ctsv brakes are inferior. Name a performance car that doesnt have drilled or slotted barkes? Especially a car that has 556hp

if you wanna put your money where your mouth is i have a close friend who has a stock cts-v with only a corsa exhaust as a modification that will run your tuned c63 over, im willing to bet $5000 you cant back your statement up

i love the c63 but sorry guys bottom line the car cannot compare to the cts-v. the V is better looking, has a much better interior and stock vs stock will annhilate a c63. Modded vs Modded the AMG has not one chance in hell.
Mod vs mod I agree. Bringing the C63 to the same crank HP as the CTS V however and the C63 destroys the stock CTS V.

Meaning a tune only C63 will walk a stock CTS V easily. Not sure how much exhaust work only doesnt to the CTS V but I would venture to guess it would close the gap significantly on a tuned C63.

Now on to your other comment of modded vs modded. No question the American car will destroy the C63. Not sure of the fastest CTSV but I know some that are close to mid 9's!!

It a matter how boost however and the C63 is a NA beast. It does way more with way less power than the caddy. To get the CTSV to run a 10.7 like Mike you need to be pushing over 800 crank HP.

Yes the C63 is a NA beast. Who wouldve thought a 39xx lbs pig would go deep into the 11s@122+ with just 2 boltons?

My god that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long while on ANY car forum - this truly shows how little you know and you have NEGATIVE credibility.

Yes, any car without drilled or slotted brakes isn't a performance car at all hence this is why F1 cars have neither.

So you couldnt name a high performance car thats in the 60k range that has plain rotors? Except the Ctsv. I guess not.

Sorry... but I gotta chime in on this...

Name a sports car that doesnt use drilled and or drilled and slotted rotors? Porsche? Ferrari? Mercedes? Nissan? BMW? Lamborghini? Anything....

I really dont know why GM chose to leave them off..

The reason F1 cars don't need to be crossed or drilled though is they have that special cooling drum. I believe F1 breaks are also much smaller than a road car. Never mind that they use specialized carbon fiber discs and pads not found on a street car.

On the other hand, Ive heard of many upgrading the CTSV's rotors for track use. I think the Brembo's are nice though and good enough.

The m3 brakes are drilled but are no good, fade very quickly. The Cts-v is a solid car, brakes are made by Brembo and I would bet they are better than the 60k+ M3.

And also a stock 6spd Cts-v sedan ran a 60-130 in 9.3 seconds. My p31 ran a 9.6 and there are a couple tuned c63's that havent been able to get in the 9's. So seems there goes the theory a tuned c63 will walk a Cts-v.

The ones I ran were autos. So manuals are faster.

Not everything happens from 60-130.

I made 2 runs. Lol. With enough practice and the right conditions I can make 9's im sure. Unless your P31 is a freak for some reason. Lol.

Either way. Cant do another one of these ctsv threads
again. Lol.

I agree I hate "vs" threads but saw some comments.and just wanted to add some facts. Also propain u werent the only one to try. Im sure youll get better times but someone said a tuned c63 is faster than the v. So I was just showing some times. Ive seen 10sec runs from 60-130 in the v too. Just seems completely false to say a tuned c63 will walk a V

This one is a 700+ crank HP Hennessey.

Other than "Absolutely not true"... now its your turn.. Show me a 10.7 CTSV that isnt putting down more than 700+ Crank HP.

gnxs has a CTSV... so it was only a matter of time....

I think his best is a 10.8... Gotta be pushing over 700 crank HP to get it too...

I make less than 585 at the wheels (at the crank....who knows but certainly less than 675) and I don't think I need too much more hp to knock .05 off my best ET (10.84).

Hell, a little "Atco air" would likely do the trick.

700hp I could imagine if the C63 even had 600hp. Goes to show a ancient push rod 6.2L with tons of boost is limited.

I see I need to requote you again. Not looking to get into it either, just need to make clear again what I responding to:

That's the quote I said was absolutely untrue.....my statement still stands. BTW, who is Mike? One of the fast East Coast C63 guys? I only know their screen names.

Not really a sports car (though neither is the C63 or CTSV) but the X5M and Cayenne Turbo don't have drilled or drilled and slotted rotors. They bring 5500 lbs to a halt very well.

Like red calipers, manufactures add things that look cool to make sales, they don't always have to be functional.
