Thinking getting one these 2 cars.
What is the better all around car and better value?
They cost about the same price now.
I tried the CTS-V last summer at Monticello race track in NY and liked it.
I never got to drive the C63 as of yet.
I have had a good experence with my 2005 C240 it has 140k miles and drives like new still.

Drive the C63 and make your decision from there, I would choose the car that feels right to you.

This is something I kicked around when I bought my car. I wanted a CTS-V but could not find a low-mileage one in my area. They were still pretty rare at the time. I knew better than to buy either one of these cars new. AMG is known for their severe depreciation and the CTS-V is well a Cadillac so it's going to depreciate just as much if not more depending on who you talk to. I've come to the conclusion that it's pretty much a wash and you should go with whichever car you like more. If your end goal is power then go with the V. A few $$ and your at 700hp and well beyond what is attainable in a C63 without extreme modifications at multiple times the price. I like the styling and class of AMG much better than the V but I still find it to be an attractive car. It was a tie in the end for me and came down to which car was available at the time. I do not regret my purchase despite all my domestic car buddies giving me sh*t for not getting the CTS-V and having an 800hp daily driver monster which to me, just sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

^^^Ha, here we go again lol.
M3, C63, ISF, CTS-V: The debate will never end. The way I look at it, go with the one you can get the best deal on. I was looking at all of these vehicles myself for about a year. They all haul *** and look really sporty.
M3: All around category benchmark.
C63: Muscle with Mercedes sophistication.
ISF: Japanese attempt to compete with the Germans. They did a pretty good job.
CTS-V: America's attempt to compete with the Germans. Not as refined but gave it tons more power.
I went with the Mercedes because they gave me the best deal of the other manufactures. Even the finance officer, who knew nothing of the negotiation process, said in his own words after the paper work was signed, "dude, you just got a hell of a deal"
They really need to get rid of that C63 before the end of the year to my delight.
Hope this helps.

Went through the same delimma and decided on the c63. Yes this ? has been asked many times!!
I saw too many Vs on the road and always had to look two or three times to verify it was a V. In contrast when I would see a C63 I always said WOW and the sound of the c63 is way better! I am a HP guy but a tune put me at 522hp and with about 300lb less weight puts me about equal to a stock V. Buy what YOU like bottom line --they are both great cars!!!

Been there done that. They are overrated-556hp

I suggest you go drive both and go with the one YOU like best. They're both fine automobiles.

I want you guys to know it wasn't the CTS-V owners starting the "car on car" violence Originally Posted by Jons95c36amg

Would be fun to testdrive the CTS-V. Seems to be a lot of fuss about it. Never even seen one over here.

The Ctsv owners I talked to say the stock exhaust is dissappointing-too quiet. So he got aftermarket ones. Damn I love the stock sound of the C63

Senior Member
Yes it is kinda quiet compared to my old E63 (2nd cat and resonator delete), but the supercharger whine makes up for it..

I feel so bad for the OP who has no idea what he just stepped into - it's an honest question but it baffles me why people ask in the first place. You're bound to get more biased opinions than not (especially so on here).
So where's melmanc when you need him to tell the OP that a tuned C63 can beat a CTS-V? Or the guy who thinks the CTS-V has inferior brakes because they're not drilled OR slotted!!

Ugh, not this guy again.

Why do people start threads like this w/out using SEARCH...could have seen what was coming a mile away.

jons63 your opinion here is a joke you run your mouth to much and every forum member know it.
i have personally road raced a stock cts-v with only a exhaust modification and will tell you it will blow the doors off a c63 amg at any speed, Start,Roll, 30-120 etc...
if you wanna put your money where your mouth is i have a close friend who has a stock cts-v with only a corsa exhaust as a modification that will run your tuned c63 over, im willing to bet $5000 you cant back your statement up
i love the c63 but sorry guys bottom line the car cannot compare to the cts-v. the V is better looking, has a much better interior and stock vs stock will annhilate a c63. Modded vs Modded the AMG has not one chance in hell.

Hopefully soon I will have a video. I'm still convincing this guy to run his stock ctsv and put on video.Originally Posted by Hercules86

Love my car to death but knowing that a CTS V is capable of high 9's @ almost 140 mph is pretty impressive
You have to drive them both then make the call
I drove the CTS V before I got my C63 and at the time the Caddy was almost $10 grand more fully optioned and I didn't like the automatic. I didn't get a chance to drive a 6spd
