Hood Emblem that fits!!??

Anybody find the right size hood emblem for our C63s? I see that this JBspeed guy sells them. Anybody purchase one? Does it have the same clip style as our OEM ones? Does it fill in the circle all the way?

THANKS!

Seach the forum for Harrower's threads. He has tried them all and none of them were the right size. You need an emblem with a 57mm diameter. JBSpeed offers 45mm emblems for the hood (too small) and 61mm one's for the trunk (too big).

I think someone tried installing a wheel cap on the hood but I'm not sure how that went.

Yeah, I was involved in that search back in the day and cannot seem to locate a good aftermarket design/replacment. Thanks...

The AMG centre cap stickers are a perfect fit for the hood. For the money there definitely worth a try. There are 3 different designs and they just stick on. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel...Q5fAccessories

I ordered one from JBSpeed - arriving tomorrow. I didnt realize it was smaller til after I bought it but for $25, big deal. I spoke to another W204 owner that installed one and he said it looked fine - I'll post pics wen I install it, if I do.

I bought some of those ebay emblems to try. They are very thin but don't look too bad and come with double faced tape on the back. I put one on my hood a while ago and it looked fine but the extra bit of width, a little more substantial thickness and a deeper finish would be required to make it look OEM.

I finally took the car out last night after a long winter hibernation. I am driving reasonably on the highway trying to warm it up and get lube through everything. I picked up a little speed and all of a sudden something comes flying up from the front of the car and flies over the roof. I had no idea what it was but knew it was light from the way it flew up. I got a little paranoid about doing something wrong on the car and having it fly apart. Everything seemed fine but had me going for a minute.

This morning I went down to have a look at my front plate holder that I had just done some mods on to get my plate mounted and still be able to use my parktronic. Everything looked fine when I noticed my hood emblem was missing.....LOL. Now I know what flew off last night. Lasted for a whole 10 kilometers before taking a hike.

Press Forward

PS: I have 3 of those emblems left if someone wants them PM me.

Thats too funny...I understand what you mean about not being the right size to fit the circular depression. This JbSpeed guy sells them and advertises that they are a "good" fit but as we all know they are not. THEY ARE NOT THE RIGHT SIZE.

So the quest goes on. Currently there is no perfect W204 hood emblem replacement. If anyone makes one they will be living large...

Keep on the look out for the perfect fit with different styles.

I actually bought one from JBspeed myself just to see if they would fit but it did not I literally scoured the entire forum, every website, every search engine I could to find aftermarket hood emblems for CL, SL, CLK, etc but could not.

what I dont understand is, why would they make so many for the E and C but none for the others?

Ehem, DFWdude's White Star or AMG badges fit the W204 perfectly (the sedans, that is). But they won't fit the hood slot on the C63 (an SL badge).
